Clerics and Animal / Terrain Domains

Advice

I know this has been answered somewhere, but I figured I'd ask you guys for a clearer answer. Can Clerics take animal or terrain domains?

This is unclear, there has been discussion, but I am aware of no "slam dunk" reasonimg either way. It seems reasonable to allow clerics of nature deities to take them, but RAW is not certain.

I seem to remember James saying that all clerics in Golarion must worship a deity and choose among that deity's domains. The "worship an ideal" part of their class description in the core rulebook is for use with other settings.

There are no deitys with animal / terrain domains on their list (none that I know of, anyway). So assuming those domains aren't druid exclusive, your only way to get one of those would be the seperatist archetype (or playing a campaign outside of the "official" Golarion).

That being said, I don't think any of those domains are more powerful than the usual cleric domains so from a balance standpoint I don't see any reason to deny the cleric access to them.

In PFS the answer is no. Otherwise ask your DM whether a Cleric is a nature themed Class...

You can possibly take one as a separatist cleric, as they are free to take any domain. Still wouldn't try it in PFS though.
