Kobold Tail Weapons: Manufactured or Natural?

So this question stems from a player of mine playing an eldritch scoundrel. He wants to know if he strikes with the tail attachment with his tail terror feat, can he deliver a charge of a touch spell?

The only reason I ask, is because it seems very vague as to whether the tail attachment is treated as a manufactured weapon or a natural one, or both (like monks unarmed strikes)? I could see it one way or the other, RAW.

If he cannot deliver it with the blade, then can he strike with the tail itself as a primary, or is it forever stuck as a secondary if he's not using the weapon? It's just mildly confusing as it is written.

Benefit: You can make a tail slap attack with your tail. This is a secondary natural attack that deals 1d4 points of bludgeoning damage. Furthermore, you can augment your tail slap attack with a kobold tail attachment. For the purpose of weapon feats, you are considered proficient with all kobold tail attachments.

This feat does two things: 1) it gives you a secondary natural attack with your tail, and 2) grants you proficiency with all kobold tail attachments.

I don't believe the phrase "augment your tail slap" means "improve the efficacy of your natural attack"; I believe it is simply a "fluff" statement implying the ability to increase your options for damage potential.

Furthermore, this phrase is repeated in the actual entry for Kobold Tail Attachments.

While I can certainly understand the ambiguity, it all comes down to how you interpret the word "augment". Tail attachments are very clearly referred to as manufactured weapons in terms of statblocks, proficiency, and feat requirements. I find it a hard argument to make that they would be considered natural weapons.

I compare them to the Ratfolk Tailblade. They are obviously similar weapons, which all get statblocks like manufactured weapons. But the Tailblade description clarifies the ways that it is treated as a natural weapons. Since the Kobold Tail Attachments don't have any similar language, I assume that they are meant to function purely as manufactured weapons.

are ear piercings, rings, natural? i would say no they modify ones body. your screwing on or clamping on something to your tail that was made and you most likely had to get used to it being there. ever stick a piece of tape to a cat's tail? they freak out. its not some secret cat foo they are doing.

Thanks everyone except Zainale (sarcastic non-RAW oriented response not needed). The reason I was asking was based on the RAW, not RAI. Either way, I agree completely with Gisher and Nitpick. Sorry for mild thread necro, just took me a while to get back from a trip to reply. Gonna run it as manufactured, but they can choose to swing it as a secondary natural slap if they wanted to even with the attachment on (dunno why he'd want to, I guess to deliver a spell). Thanks again!
