In the Rainbow of PFS Polo Shirts, is there room for one that a VA could wear?

We reviewed the entire polo scheme earlier this year. At that time we decided not to go forward with official VA shirts. We will review this at the end of the year, when we set plans for Season 9.

As a side note, the volunteer shirts are used at many more conventions than Gen Con. We handed them out at PaizoCon, PaizoCon UK, Pax and Gen Con. Many volunteers that have them wear them to every convention they attend and work at. So Purple and Orange have become associated with our volunteers.

As an alternative to T-shirts, I would suggest ribbons.

Maybe a funny hat would work? or maybe a not-so-funny hat as well (though not as entertaining).

Antenna! That plus a secret decoder ring!

I also like the idea of VA shirt, or even polos available for everyone to buy. I never got around to ordering one when I was a VL. I'm not a T-shirt guy myself and would love to have an option.

I think it should be an ivory or white color to indicate the purity of the VO. Then as they rise in ranks, they become sick with dread (green) then angry at the world (red) and finally unlife takes them (yellow)

Deerstalker. The official uniform of Venture-Agents is a deerstalker. Pipe optional.

Thanks Tonya.

I'm still hoping for a VA polo in Season 8. Purple, dark green, teal or even black or white.

The problem with badge ribbons is that at the local cons that I attend they're almost too prevalent. Most science fiction con goers have badge ribbon collections that far surpass the one in this picture. Having absurd numbers of ribbons attached to your badge is such a popular fad that the significance of any individual ribbons is lost.

For now, I guess I'll rely on my smile and my purple hair to catch people's attention so they come ask me questions. Have a great time at GenCon, everyone!

Hmm

I can't believe I'm old enough to say this but I've witnessed the evolution of badge ribbons and I agree.

When I first attended Dragon*Con in the late 90s as a wide-eyed teenager I saw badge ribbons. Staff, exhibitor, vendor, panelist, or special guest along with the one "regular" ribbon for eternal members. A quick glance and you could tell by color whether someone could point you in the right direction or would sell you pirated anime.

That lasted for a few years, then the exhibitors started seeing the advertising opportunities and handing out ribbons to whoever demoed their products. Then the organizers of niche panels. Then a group of attendees got special ribbons made for themselves (and no one else). Then individuals just made their own and passed them out to everyone who would take one.

I was at one Con where the organizers asked people not to bring custom ribbons because they were using ribbons as part of a Con-wide game. (I wasn't playing but I think it was some kind of infection/pyramid scheme thing using the colors of the ribbons.) It didn't take, people brought their own ribbons anyway.

I've long since stopped paying any attention to the ribbons on a badge.

i'd love to be able to buy an official VA shirt - i'd steer away from purple, as Tonya mentioned above there are a lot of purple volunteer shirts in the UK, and you see them at most cons here

I think I found the VA shirt everyone. We'll have no issue finding a VA when we need one with these. :)

I may be the only person you'd know who'd wear it...

I had 4 VA's in attendance at my last event.

They will all be returning for my next event.

I am totally insisting they wear these.

I'd become a VA entirely for that shirt.

And then resign before I had to do any real work, of course. Y'all VOs work *way* too hard.

I so would buy one, of any color or design LOL.

Im thinking we should update to that style polo for all the VO/Staff polos...

I like the idea of making the polos night visibility.

That's one mighty beard. The most I care to grow is "The Lincoln". Any more and the grey(and the red, thank you ancestry) gets pretty noticeable.

I miss that look. Thor as my witness, I do miss the hair and beard.

Longer sigh
