When a monk (or sacred fist warpriest) uses a weapon with the "monk" quality, does it do the original weapon damage, or the damage of the monk's (or sacred fist warpriest's) unarmed strike? I'm uncertain of whether I want to take a weapon that does a lot of damage if it doesn't scale, or one that's more flavorful but doesn't do as much damage on its own if it does.

Sovereign Court

Original damage.

weapons do weapon damage, not IUS damage.

NUTS! >:(

Scarab Sages

However, if you take ascetic style, monk weapons can have their damage increased, and brawlers automatically get that with close combat mastery.

That said, some monk weapons have a rather decent damage die. Sansetsukon is 1d10 19-20/x2
