None of my local players have played EotT (myself included). In fact, we have an initiative running at our games club to get 6 players with PFS PCs levelled up to 12th (affectionally called 'project carbon') so that it can happen; they're even focusing on some of the relevant early tier 7-11 scenarios so they're invested in the season 0-2 background.

I doubt the rumours hold much water, but we'd be very disappointed if it was retired at short notice.

Setting story reasons aside for a second, I would really hate to see Eyes of the Ten retired. Given the relative lack of Seeker level content, removing 4 of the scenarios that we do have just doesn't seem like a good idea. To me that's reason alone to keep them. John and Linda know now, I'm sure, how much effort it takes to build a Seeker arc. Eyes is an excellent Seeker arc, and it seems like a waste to remove it when there are so many players that have never had the opportunity to play it.

As far as "story reasons," I just don't see that as ever being enough of a reason to retire scenarios. I'm with the crowd that thinks First Steps II and III would work fine with some rewritten dialogue. For Eyes, the majority of the scenarios that tie into it are still available to play. Eyes gives a capstone to those first few seasons. Just like a character that has mostly played seasons 3-7 might not get as much out of Eyes, a character that gets to 12 having mostly played seasons 0-2 won't get as much out of All for Immortality (I'm guessing, having not played/read it).

What we have now that we didn't have before is a choice of seeker arc content. Sequences of scenarios can be constructed for either early seasons or later seasons. If you remove Eyes, then you lose some of that ability, because the thing the early seasons build towards will no longer be available.

The PFS team's goals including expanding Seeker play, not limiting it. When Eyes of the Ten premiered, it was the only Seeker content available and was seen as retirement. Now PFS sanctioned content goes above 12th level, so the Seeker arc is a capstone of PFS scenario play, not a character.

With this in mind, the PFS team has no current intentions of retiring Eyes of the Ten. If in the future we were to do so, we would post here and everyone would know from us that it was happing well in advance of the actual retirement.

That is great news. Locally we make a real production of Eyes and everyone who has participated seems to have really enjoyed it. It is easily the most iconic series of adventures I've played in PFS and approaches things like Against the Giants.
