Best way to go about building the 'shadow dancer' concept?

Advice

I was thinking about this. Nowadays you're probably best off being a Magus if you want to be an Eldritch Knight, ortaking the Eldritch Archer archetype of the Magus if you want to be an Arcane Archer or being a dragon blooded Blood Rager if you want to be a Dragon Disciple. Is there something similar out there to replace the Shadowdancer? Or just a more modern way of going about the Shadowdancer concept?

nothing that i know but, i wish a hybrid class doing this shadowdancer a 20 level base class

I'd say that the Shadow Caller Spiritualist is the closest match, with things like Shadow Jump and a Shade in place of the Shadow Dancer's shadows.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think the Shadowdancer PrC still works pretty well, personally. I'd go into it from Dark Lurker archetype Rogue.

I still love the shadow dancer and the dragon disciple prcs xD. I like to go 5 lvl swashbuckler and than all shadow dancer

It's viable to go URogue 20 now, since the Blood of Shadows stuff gave a pretty decent kit. Also consider the Cabalist Vigilante, which comes with the option to pick Shadow Jump and has Dimension Door on its spell list.

Excellent suggestions.

Teisatsu vigilante with abundant step and hide in plain sight, although it would lack the shadow companion, but every shadow dancer I've ever played I just forgot I had it anyway, but then, I never liked controling two characters at a time, which is why I tend to not play classes with animal companions or familiars.
