Gods and Goddesses of Love: A Dearth

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

So I was looking through my Inner Sea Gods and Chronicles of the Righteous looking for gods and goddesses of love and I noticed a lack there of. Except for Shelyn, Bolka, and maybe Hembad there is a dearth of them.

Are there any I am missing?

Also, Arshea does not count. Their portfolio is beauty, sexuality, and freedom.

Please do not use "it" for genderfluid humanoid characters.

Fixed it. Sorry about that. I thought in Arshea's case that was the thing to do. My apologies.

PS: Silly Arshea's an outsider ;)

@NPC
You're not alone. This kind of stuff always confuses me, since the next person you ask will have a different interpretation. Kind of like "alignment".

And to tie the two together:

from Arshe's page wrote:
Freedom matters most to the Spirit of Abandon, but not simply freedom of the body. Arshea espouses utter liberation of the soul and encourages mortals to abandon needlessly constraining beliefs.

Yet the alignment is listed as "Neutral Good".

Yet under the official alignment descriptions "freedom" is not to be found under any alignments except the "Chaotic" ones.

Further, Arshea is titled as "Lord", a masculine honorific.

Go figure.

*shrug*

So if I were you I would use this as a chance to create a deity that covers what you were looking for. Assuming buy-in by your GM. Else if PFS, you're out of luck.

Thanks Quark.

In this case I am not looking to create a demigod or deity. I have a character idea of a love focused oracle. So, I had been hoping to compose his personal pantheon from the love divinities from around Golarion. Maybe even do a Love version of the Godclaw failth.

YW.

You also might be able to kludge together the deity you want by taking aspects from the three or four you listed. And maybe some others. Nothing in the rules say your character can't be a polytheist, right? Especially since this character is an Oracle and not a Cleric.

Just an idea.

Quark out.

Empyreal "Lords" can be of any gender.

Or none. Or several... I assume.

At any rate, "Lord" is still a masculine honorific, which gets directly to my point --> You just have to ask how people want to be addressed because there are no rules that will avoid offense 100% of the time.

Zon-Kuthon is love.

Zon-Kuthon is life!

...

Wait...

Asmodeus loves crushing mortals under his iron-heeled boot. Does that count?

After some additional looking there is also Hathor, but that is still a smaller amount than one would think.

So Shelyn, Hathor, Bolka, and maybe Hembad.

Naderi counts for a certain kind of doomed, specialized love.

Erastil even could count for a kind of boring, conventional, settled down form of love.

True. Might have to stretch in that direction if I get this character off the ground.

Ah, but that's the richest, deepest, most fruitful kind of love... if you persist at it, and have patience as well as passion.

Brigh is the goddess of love of technological advancement, right?

Kurgess is the god of love of sportsmanship?

Brigh is more just the process of invention and of contructs. Her followers are ainly the ones who loveinvention. Kurgess is more or less about the love of sportsmanship and healthy competition,

That sounds like it would fall more into the Savored Sting's department, doesn't it?

Everyone loves Friend Briggs because Friend Briggs loves all. Please report to your local re-training center.

That's more or less true, although I imagine it would be him, Cayden Cailean, and maybe Arshea, if it's more of a romantic bromance.
