Glenn the Daring Champion build

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Hey there, how are you all doing? I was bouncing around ideas on a character to make for an upcoming Kingmaker campaign. I’ve always wanted to make a Glenn character, from Chrono Cross, but could never really find a satisfying class. Recently, I came across the Daring Champion for Cavaliers, and thought I would give that a go. Here are the results. I would appreciate any feedback, or inputs:
Race: Human, Dark Blonde, 20 yrs old, Green eyes.
Class: Cavalier, Daring Champion, Order of the Dragon
Stats: 20 Point Buy: St-10, Dex-16(add +2), Con-14, Int-10, Wis12, Cha-13 (I really don’t like negative stats)
Feats: Ex. Weapon Pro. Aldori Dueling Sword, Weapon Focus, Slashing Grace (3rd level)
Traits: Armor Expert (Reduced check pen.), Sword Scion (+1 trait on attack and CM w/dueling sword)
Gear:
Aldori Dueling Sword (Mithral, Holy, Impact eventually)
Breastplate (upgrade to Armor of Celestial Host, or if not allowed, Celestial Armor, or Mithral Breastplate)
Buckler (Mithral +3 eventually)
Dex and Con boosting gear (Belt)
Boots of Sprinting and Springing (Eventually Boots of Speed)
Ring of Protection
Amulet of NA
Pauldron of free will (I know its cape, but you can build how you want, and I want pauldron)
Handy Haversack (Because it’s awesome)
Skills:
Primary: Diplomacy (if you’re the face), Intimidate (if you’re not), Perception (for obvious reasons), Sense Motive (because nobody likes getting stabbed in the back).
Secondary: Bluff (for playing cards, and stuff), Climb (so you don’t fall), Handle Animal (for your ride), Ride (because you’re still a cavalier), Survival (because rations taste terrible, and getting lost sucks), Swim (because it’s super embarrassing to kill a whole bunch of monsters, and then drown)
Glenn grew up in the shadow of his older brother, a prominent and prestigious swordsman. While he was never as quite as good, he bore his brother no ill will and never let it slow him down. He trained constantly to find a way to catchup with his brother. While he wasn’t that strong, he was fast, and decided to use his speed to his advantage, in the hopes that one day, he could match and surpass his brother. But it was not meant to be, as one day, while on a mission for the crown, his brother lost his life. When the call came for men at arms to explore the Stolen Lands and claim them, Glenn saw his chance to break out on his own, to help forget about his loss, and help forge the destiny of a new nation.

Well, that’s my idea so far, any thoughts?

Sovereign Court

Scimitar/cutlass/rapier saves you a feat and you get the full benefits of the build at level 1. Threat range is also arguably better in the long run.

1 dip into Swashbuckler gives you then lost parry.
I had a build in mind for bard 1, cavalier 4, battle herald 10.
For a dex build that make all around him better.

I thought of that, but scimitars and cutlass loss out on the weapon finesse benefit, and rapier losses out on the slashing grace.

1. For scrimitar/cutlass - read Slashing Grace closer. It makes them count as piercing for you.

2. For rapier - check out Fencing Grace. It's essentially identical to Slashing Grace only for rapiers.

Though they still deal slashing damage, funnily enough.

I see. I have been using the Hero lab program to make these characters, and some of the feats you all mentioned are not in there, yet. Still, for background flavor, I was trying to keep it close to the Brevoy nationality.

LOL... Struggling to picture a 'Glenn' as heroic!

Little Helper, I looked into Slashing Grace, and you are absolutely correct. I did overlook it. What would be the recommendation to replace the EWP?
