Dirty Fighting with Mage Hand

Rules Questions

Grand Lodge

I am currently looking into ways to supplement the weak combat skills of my Oracle and am wondering what the usual ruling is with using Mage Hand to throw dirt or broken glass into and opponents eyes?

Near as I can figure, it should be possible, being under 5lbs and an unattended object.

The usual ruling is "No."

Issues:
- First and foremost, the rules don't give you a way to do this.
- Almost, if not equally, as important, balance. Mage Hand is a cantrip, and shouldn't be duplicating the ability of a fourth-level spell to perform telekinetic combat maneuvers.
- The Aether Kineticist must take two talents in order to perform telekinetic Dirty Trick, despite starting with an upgraded version of Mage Hand.
- The movement is pretty slow- about a quarter of the speed of somebody double-moving. It'd be really easy to dodge.
- Mage Hand works on a single unattended object. Sand and broken glass are a bunch of objects.

You'll probably need to look to your Oracle's mystery to provide your low-level combat options, at least if you don't have the strength to swing a club around at people who get in your way.

I don't know if "can't make attack rolls" is part of the spell, but I certainly wouldn't allow it.

Ah well, thanks!
