What PF Tales Should I Read Next?

Books

I need a recommendation, folks. I have read (and greatly enjoyed) all of Dave Gross' PF novels; I liked the back-and-forth narration of Varian/Radovan (and even Arnisant for a little while), each with a distinct voice, and the growth of the characters over the different stories.

My question: what other writer/stories should I read next in the PF Tales line? Give me recommendations, and sell me on another literary Golarion adventure.

The Exchange

I cannot claim to have read a lot of these. However, of the few I have read (among which 3 were the first three Dave Gross novels), my two favorite are Nightglass and Death's Heretic.

Nightglass is a character study. It is in turns horrifying, hopeful, weird and touching. The action is not the best, and children are written in a somewhat unbelievable way, but the depth of the story and the theme, as well as the very good main character, makes the book stand up above the pulpy genre.

Death's Heretic is a ripping good yarn, teeming with tension and action, set against the backdrop of some of the crazier aspects of the Golarion setting. The writing is great, the story is good, it's just a perfect example of what a good PF story should be.

Thanks, Lord Snow! I'll look at both Nightglass and Death's Heretic as soon as I'm able. Any others that you want to share, folks?
