Advice

Is there any reason this wouldn't work? it gets the first level mystery for life link, and then opens up some nice versatility.

It potentially opens some nice cheese as well, if life link oracle ability and the life link hex stack. you could potentially double your life links, taking less of an oracle dip, or double link people for more HP per round transfered.

I asked about the cheese in the rules forum, but never got a response, so I'm not really sure if it will work.

Silver Crusade

Hi, I'm Lyric the Singing Paladin, and I'm a Spirit Guide Oradin!

I love Spirit Guide because it has really opened up options for me. Just keep in mind that spell casting is delayed, and if you go with 2 levels of Paladin for Lay on Hands that you won't be able to pick up spells from your spirit until level 6. The delayed casting is the balancing point that keeps you from cheesing out too much.

Hmm

It only delays your spirit spells though, you get your normal oracle spells on time.

Silver Crusade

Well, on time for your levels of oracle, but remember that you have paladin levels too. This means that you'll be getting all your spells later.

Do you have a build that you wish us to comment upon?

Hmm

I'm still working on my build, but I'm planning on making a melee dexterity/bodyguard build. I'm not sure yet whether I want to take in harms way, since it may be redundant.

What I'm trying to figure out is if there are any archetypes that would work really well with this idea, I know hospitaler is usually recomended for the paladin, but since we'll be fighting mostly evil enemies I'm not sure I want to give up the smites.

For oracle I may just go with the regular oracle, since no one seems to know whether the two different life links would stack or double the number of links.

I'm planning on a human, taking Fey foundling and and weapon finesse at first level, combat reflexes at third and body guard at fifth, then moving toward dex to damage, probably with fencing grace, though it's tempting to go for slashing grace with a bastard sword. I'd be takin the adopted trait for the halfling helpful trait as well.

I'm leaning toward a 25 point buy stat array of:
Str 12
dex 16
con 16
int 12
wis 7
cha 16

I may knock the strength and int down to increase my dex, but I'll likely be the face as well, so I will need the skill points.
