I miss the traditional Paizo blog con updates. But they're updating on Twitter and Facebook this year. Check the message at the top of the forums and front page:
The Paizo staff are at PaizoCon 2016 from May 27 through May 30!
Follow us on Facebook or Twitter for updates during the show, or track #paizocon.

It's disappointing that you guys aren't doing blog posts this year. Nothing against facebook or twitter, but on those platforms, it's really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. There are some nuggets of real information, but you have to dig for them. The blog posts usually put the good announcements front and center.
(I'm busy tonight anyway; my players are going to have their final battle with Karzoug!)

Fwiw, I haven't seen any real breaking news yet. Maybe the Faction Pins announcement? And here's something about an update to Pathfinder Adventures.
The big news will break at the banquet, and I imagine the blog update Chris promised will cover new product announcements from that.

Trust me, there is a very good reason we swapped the blog tabs on the front page. Again, this is a trial for PaizoCon, as we found the process of liveblogging was onerous enough to present challenges for our staff at conventions we have a prominent appearance at (particularly Gen Con where we have even more limited time/resources to devote to the process). I will be keeping an eye on this thread for feedback and when we reflect on the convention as a whole this year.

In that light, and for future reference, I'll say that it would probably have been a good idea to have a short Thursday blog post pointing people looking for Paizo Con updates to Facebook and Twitter. Then, when people looked for them on the Paizo blog, they'd have seen that at the top. I know it's on the top of the front page, but an official notice of the change in the place where people are used to looking for updates might have pointed more people in the right direction.

I get it. But no.
I'm one of those archaic crusty old men who interacts with companies via their web sites, e-mail domains, and phone systems. No Facebook, no Twitter, no MySpaceBlogHypeMegaNurplePurpleZoopieZoombaStatsGathererAdNetworkIntrusionA lienPropeNarcisistNet for me.
Tinfoil hat? Not exactly. I don't desire to socially network. I recognize there's nothing special about me, and nobody wants to know when my last movement was.
So requiring me to use a 3rd-party company known to scavenge every last drop of user information in order to access the latest information regarding your company? Meh.
I'll wait until someone reposts things to here. And if they don't, well, I'll just miss out on whatever. Not the end of the world.
Still had to add my vote for "social networking bad".

Seems pretty easy to me to read PaizoCon updates on the web. Most of last year's blog updates were quite short too. I'm sure when they have something more detailed and substantial to announce, they do a long-form old-school blog post.

Kevin Mack, re your question on Facebook about the Future of Paizo seminar, looks like Enlight Bystand is live-Tweeting it.

i am trying - done future of Paizo and the ACG panel, had to pop back to the room as my phone's battery is dropping. Will be along for Auntie Lisa's Story hour shortly, but might jump over to the AP q&a.
Will definately be firing off what I can in the banquet.

EDIT: Fall RPG hardcover: Villain Codex
Spring RPG hardcover: Encounter Codex

It's another tool for busy DMs, like the NPC Codex and Rival Codex. Contains complete encounters, using flipmats and pawns. Sounds useful, if you need, say, a bandit camp or an ambush or some other sort of random encounter on the fly.

Hey, here's someone posting from the Banquet.
And here's a Know Direction wrap-up of the announcements.
Joana |
This is the most disappointing Paizocon so far. I mean the only announcement that interest me is the first world campaign setting book.
I don't know: it's nice to have a Paizocon that doesn't leave me worried about how much more money I'm going to spend on gaming the following year.
I hope Starfinder is a huge success for Paizo, but it's a product line I have no interest in at all. (I'm still kind of stuck on the "we're doubling our workload!" part of the announcement, but Lisa and Vic are professionals and I'm sure they've done their due diligence.)

That's my concern as well.
The AP's are one thing, but is Starfinder going to be supported by multiple hardcovers each year in addition to the Pathfinder RPG hardcover release schedule? I feel like in the last few years the editors and developers have finally reached a point where I think they can deal with the production load without breaking. I'd hate for ACG issues to re-emerge because a new line renders them understaffed again for their output.
On the other hand, I feel like Paizo can probably reduce there RPG hardcover output to about 2-3 books a year, and let a 3rd or 4th book be focused on Starfinder.

Since we're down to Encounter Codex, I would argue that Starfinder will be stepping in and scooping up some of the hardcover space that Pathfinder is sorta....milking at this point.
Depending on rules compatibility, they might be able to share bestiaries and the like.
I'll be interested to see where things go.

1. LOVE the idea of an Encounter Codex. Seeing as I am an overly busy GM who owns all the maps.
2. If Starfinder does take off, it'd warrant new hires, so hopefully it's not too much of aresource drain.
3. I'm okay too with 2-3 hardcovers max. I love getting new books, but it'd be nice to give my crying bookshelves a break.

Starfinder?
so, i guess Pathfinder product sales are dipping?
I'd rather they put more effort into Pathfinder, countries described in "Distant Shores" or an ongoing mega-dungeon like "Hollow Mountain"
I tried "star frontiers" and "Traveler" not really my thing
I would assume that mega dungeons and more Campaign setting material would not remotely be influenced by Starfinder anyway. It's more the "world neutral" RPG line.

it's a question of resources; now you have lots of paizo people devoted to Starfinder and not Pathfinder
