1. LOVE the idea of an Encounter Codex. Seeing as I am an overly busy GM who owns all the maps.

Me too, particularly given my noobishness w.r.t. being a GM.

3. I'm okay too with 2-3 hardcovers max. I love getting new books, but it'd be nice to give my crying bookshelves a break.

Indeed, though my crying bookshelf is crying more for other reasons (like really poor quality). I just haven't found the right one for my "office" yet. I'm also still catching up on older books that I don't have, so space is closing fast.

I think the Villain Codex looks pretty cool, too. I can see the guys I play with liking it as well.

Unless they bring on new people. Lisa Stevens is saying that Pathfinder development won't be impacted. Separate product lines with separate developers.

Starfinder?

so, i guess Pathfinder product sales are dipping?

I'd rather they put more effort into Pathfinder, countries described in "Distant Shores" or an ongoing mega-dungeon like "Hollow Mountain"

I tried "star frontiers" and "Traveler" not really my thing

I would assume that mega dungeons and more Campaign setting material would not remotely be influenced by Starfinder anyway. It's more the "world neutral" RPG line.

I have a feeling we'll hear about new hires over the next few weeks and months.

Honestly, I see this as a good thing - it means Paizo is in a good enough place to release a new game. And they are more than smart enough to do this the right way.

I wouldn't worry at all about this announcement - I see it as a very positive move

I believe that the collapse of PF Online freed up some resources as well.

Actually I think thats still going. With a new investor showing interest last time I checked.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Apart from putting the Emerald Spire and Thornkeep books on the product schedule, the biggest impact of Pathfinder Online on Paizo editorial was that Erik, Jason, James, and Sarah attended an hour-long meeting once a week (often less) during the peak development period.
