Neothelids and Ceremorphosis

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I know ultimately the reason we don't have Illithids in pathfinder is a matter of copyright, but it has bothered me for some time now that neothelids are present, but ceremorphosis doesn't seem to get any mention to my knowledge, even in some variant form.

So, I'd like to ask this; Are neothelids incapable of this process in the pathfinder setting, whether or not they are fundamentally a different creature than that of their D&D counterpart, or is it something that simply hasn't been known to occur or at least explored because of legal reasons?

Ceremorphosis is not part of Pathfinder. Neothelids are, in Pathfinder, a fundamentally different and separate entity from mind flayers.

Well, can't get a more definitive answer than that. Thank you.
