Attacking Yourself and You

Rules Questions

Suppose I wanted to attack myself. Do I need to roll to hit my own AC? I see a lot of people saying you auto-hit and some even saying you auto-crit but I'm not seeing any RAW support for this.

Let's take it a step further and say I want to Disintegrate myself. Do I need to roll to hit my own touch AC? What does RAW have to say on the matter?

It depends on what you're attacking yourself with.

If it's a touch spell, RAW actually does say you auto-hit yourself.

Touch Spells in Combat: Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) as a free action. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

If you're using a reach weapon, you can't attack yourself with it, because you don't threaten your own square with it.

It's not impossible to shoot yourself with a ranged weapon (some of the ranged critical fumble cards do this), but it may well be impossible with certain ranged weapons.

I'd say you can be completely at your own mercy, wouldn't you?
