If a creature flying in gaseous form went to sleep, would it stay in the air or descend to the ground? If the latter, at what speed would it descend?
Hovering is generally considered a conscious action, so I would think they would sink. Nothing in the spell indicates that they are lighter than air either (otherwise, they would just float away).
