What are the best adventures with parties / soirees / banquets?

Hey folks,

I'm running Way of the Wicked and the party is now 8th level. They've been invited to a birthday party by a Baron. My group want it to be "quite the event" - which modules do you recommend I plunder?

(We once ran Age of Worms so the banquet from The Prince of Redhand has been used already :-) )

Thanks in advance :)

For Queen and Empire, from Hell's Vengeance has some fun looking social interactions for evil.

Otherwise Dance of the Damned and book two of Council of Thieves has some party stuff. Wish I could remember Council of Thieves book name...

Book 2 of Council of Thieves is called The Sixfold Trial, and it does indeed have a pretty extensive banquet in it. That one would probably fit your needs pretty well with some modifications.

This thread has also been modifying it with Ultimate Intrigue rules, which looks pretty neat.

There is also an extended, multi-day banquet/festival event in book 4 of Jade Regent, Forest of Spirits, complete with games and competitions.

Thanks folks - the CoT banquet looks like great fun :-)
If they dig the social aspect I could maybe have the Baron sponsor a play and do some more of that adventure!
Now off to read Dance of the Damned properly.

Richard Pett does seem to do these things rather well, doesn't he? :-)

I vaguely remember a Nick Logue one too... have to dig through the old book mountain...

You could also look at the Rushlight Tournament from War of the River Kings (Kingmaker AP) if you want the PCs to participate in contests.

Dark Archive

There's an excellent zombie party in book 2 of Curse of the Crimson Throne.

If they're really digging the social stuff and you want to make that a larger part of the campaign, I'd take a look at the influence rules in Ultimate Intrigue, especially if they have a goal or something they're trying to accomplish at this party.

I'm thinking about doing just that, as they have used the rules in the campaign to start an evil organization using multiple characters and the Leadership feat. Now they have Minions :-)

I just haven't really had time to flesh it all out yet, roll on the holidays!
