Just in case it wasn't clear Adolina would take one more level of Slayer and then Shadowdancer all the way. :)

Hi to all those interested in joining us. I expect we will try to make a selection soon and at least half of you have proposed an idea but not yet submitted a candidate. I saw lots of good ideas and would like to see them fleshed out, at least a little. Looking forward to seeing your builds and back-stories.

Baldric Moore reporting for duty!

I've been accepted into three RotRL games so far with this character (two starting at the beginning and one in book 3) but for one reason or another all of them have eventually failed. Obviously, I'd need to do some serious reworking but I'd love to have a chance to play through the rest of the AP. Current build is lore warden/martial master fighter (a clever, flexible combatant with some skill support), but I think I could probably rebuild him as a slayer and be happy with him. I'll work on it some right now.

Hi Cadas (and other players)... I forgot Azrael's background... it was in a word doc and I forgot to cut and paste into his profile - it's there now if you were looking and didn't see it previously. Thanks for reading..

DM Papa.DRB wrote:

@All: Someone PM'd me about why no PFS Chronicles. To stave off other questions about this, I'll just answer here.

Most Importantly, I do not understand the rules, restrictions, etc. for PFS play, and have so many questions on them that it would be a large chore for me to learn them all and enforce them.

For example:
1) Are you Core or "Standard"? Do the others in the campaign have to be Core or Standard?
2) Does everyone else have to play by the same rules for PFS or just your character?
3) How am I supposed to get you your sheets?
4) Where are the blank sheets (Chronicle, Inventory, other????)?
5) Do I have to generate an event? How do I do that?
6) Do I then have to fill in said event? How do I do that?
and the list would go on from here.

While I appreciate that some folks would like this, and I do understand that some folks are very interested in this; if you wish to have PFS Chronicles, I am just not your guy.

-- david

Well, I can do all that stuff for you if people want chronicles, assuming I got in of course. :)

I don't know if I count as multiclass, but I was going to keep going Dragon Disciple for all 10 levels of it. And then back to summoner until the campaign ends.

One question- I had VMC [magus] in two versions... In one the GM was going to let me take another arcana instead of spellstrike (since I'm a non-caster), in the other the GM ruled that spellstrike could be used to deliver touch spells from the magus spell list that I 'cast' off scrolls or wands. Are either of those acceptable to you, or would it be a wasted ability?

I currently have most of the stats up for the my character Teessara. Still got to get the rest of it up today and will write a nice backstory to go along with it. Her companion will also hopefully be done today.

Dot - will post a female halfling swashbuckler soon.

I submit Shogunto here for appreciation. I'm still working on his backstory, but wanted at least to dot here and show what's in place already. Shogunto is a Hunter/Druid: he packs trapfinding and survival skills, and fights in melee with natural attacks. Thanks for the opportunity :)

Does the ranger get stock animal companions, or can I reach outside the list? Rather taken by the idea of a tengu ranger with a giant raven :D.

Alright, got a sweet vanilla Half-Orc Ranger going for that pure on Damage with the Great Sword and combing that with some Divine magics which I'll add in a sec after I finish my wolfie companion.

Backstory.................................................................. ........................................................................... ........................................................................... ......................................soon.

Question; Can I craft my own items for crafting price? I'd like to craft my own Alchemical items and potions.

Following that, I have a kinda odd character concept;
An abandoned orphan child is abandoned, and adopted by a small tribe of goblins. The girl, from a very young age, proved to be the brightest of the tribe, as she crawled and stumbled with the horde. Eventually, she watched as one of her tribe's opposing tribes were slaughtered, the woman who tried to take over her tribe's corpse taken. There was much celebrating for a couple days, before she was cornered, and her tribe killed in a weekly raid. So now her family is gone and dead, and she's carted away to some random society place, and locked up alone, while random folks try to teach her to be society.

So she brewed herself a potion of invisibility, and got the hell out of dodge. The question is, now what does little goblin girl do?
Look for powerful people. She has always followed powerful people. Who is powerful people?
The Adventurers!
Find adventurers. So she did.

What would the characters class advancement be, please?

Just noticed, you say he is a hunter/druid but in the alias he is a ranger/druid. Clarify please.

@Sam C- the animal companion list has a "bird" as a single entry... Using those statistics you should be able to use just about any bird you want for fluff

Would be an acceptable submission. Use THIS LINK to get the statistics on a Giant Raven.

Vagabond? wrote:

Not initially.

If you take the feats/skills you can craft items later in the game, but not initially, but to be honest there is not a lot of down time in this AP.

I would allow this "spellstrike could be used to deliver touch spells from the magus spell list that I 'cast' off scrolls or wands."

Well, I'm largely saying this as crafting is part of the alchemists class features; Ultimate Campaign recommends increasing wealth by 25%, which makes sense. 50% with multiple crafting feats; I'm wondering, since she would have to have relied both on salaved materials and stuff she made, if she could craft her own stuff.

That, and half of what I want costs an arm and a leg (Being a frontliner is EXPENSIVE, holy crap).

Cool. Not much left to go then.

And here is DIO! Tessara's wolf companion whom can provide a defense to our casters our give some nice flanks.

So far, I see the following submissions: (done == submission is complete enough that a decision can be made, but may need some small changes)

Also, submissions are still open. Those folks without a [done] are still eligible to submit a character for consideration, as we have not made any decisions yet.

If I have missed anyone or anything, let me know, thanks.... -- david

Hi DM Papa.DRB or David if you would prefer... Azrael is male.

My Character is Dalla Stolojan, Female Brawler (Shield Champion). Her background is all done, I'm just working on equipment.

DM Papa, would you allow a mithral breastplate to (eventually) get the brawling enhancement?

Mithral important wording, bold added for emphasis:
Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations. Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light.

Brawling enhancement:

The wearer of brawling armor gains a +2 bonus on unarmed attack and damage rolls, including combat maneuver checks made to grapple. Her unarmed strikes count as magic weapons for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction. These bonuses do not apply to natural weapons. This special ability does not prevent the wearer's unarmed strikes from provoking attacks of opportunity or make the wearer's unarmed strikes count as armed attacks. The brawling ability can be applied only to light armor.

I think it should work, but I wanted to make sure before I finalize equipment.

Sovereign Court

Currently mulling over some kind of ranger/rogue or fighter/rogue multiclass. I'm presuming that when you say "skills needed" you mostly mean "traps & sneaking." ;)

Sorry it took so long but the website kept kicking me out after I input all of my data and would not save it.
back ground soon to come

Go to Grayson Waylander.

I think I'm done updating. If I missed anything, or you'd like more information on anything, please let me know.

nate lange - Baldric Moore – human male slayer (VMC[magus]) 6

Still have to finish up his equipment (and a couple of combat details affected by those choices), but Pazeek Splitbeak and his companion Squork are otherwise ready to go.

Silver Crusade

I don't think you'll need the full two weeks for this recruitment DM Papa, twelve full/mostly full submissions already is amazing!

I'm working on a slightly non-standard approach to the character. It will be a Half Elf Druid using the Nature Fang archetype with the Monkey domain. She'd be grabbing trap related skills as her 4th lvl slayer talent.

Also still looking at the Inquisitor but not sure how to pull off trapfinding at 6 without multiclassing.

Adolina d'Jhaltera wrote:

There haven't been a lot of recruitments lately, we're in the middle of a slump, so everyone's jumping on this one.

Yea, that is a lot of submission. My "problem" (nice problem to have) is that if someone is chosen now then they will have to wait 3 or so weeks before getting into the game. Or I wait the 3 or so weeks here and then someone is chosen and they enter the game shortly.

I'll think on it and get with the group and see what they wish to do and let you all know in a few days if the deadline changes.

I can't speak for anyone else but I would much rather know sooner and wait for joining the action than wait to know. If you make the selection sooner the chosen player can get into the discussion thread and get to know the other players a little bit, and will have plenty of time to read through some of the gameplay thread. Plus it would allow those who aren't picked to start looking for another game much sooner if they so desire.

just my 2cp...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

Nate makes good points... otoh, you did already give a deadline. if you decide to change it, you should at least let those who've expressed an interest already finish up, even if it takes them until that stated deadline imo.

This right here is what I'd prefer. Better to know for sure and wait, than wait, wait, and wait some more in anticipation.

I agree as well

Also agree.

Do you need the equipment finalized for the character to be [done] or is the build sufficient with equipment finalized if they are chosen? I'm a bit under the gun at work so would prefer spending time poring over equipment if Sanita's chosen, if possible, rather than finalizing equipment and not being chosen. Of course, if the 3 weeks remains, I'll have plenty of time to finalize...

"Greetings! Laëlynn's the name. I heard there was some trouble in Sandpoint. I'm hear to help if you'll have me... and I don't cost much."

Crunch, Appearance, Personality & Background are in the alais.

I agree with Nate on that point. It does suck having to wait 2-3 weeks on a decision only to find out it's 'No'. I'd rather know ASAP whether I got in or not.

Ok, three of the four in the current group have checked in and agree. I am confident the fourth will also, so I will move the submission deadline up.

New Submission Deadline: Wednesday, 11 May at 20:00 Eastern US time.

That is 32+ hours from now, which gives folks who have posted intent a chance to finish up. Will announce as soon as we make a choice, but it should hopefully not be later than Thursday 12 May afternoon.

-- david

edit: In the last campaign I started up (still 1st level), I wrote that I would choose five characters. I got just five submission, however they formed (to my perspective) a viable and coherent party so I went with it and it is fun. Having 23 folks so far provide characters or show intent blew my mind!

Thanks for the update, David... Look forward to Thursday! Hoping it's me of course, but there are so many great submissions!

Equipment does not have to be finalized, however we reserve the right to say no to really weird items.

Sounds good! Mine will be fully formatted and submitted tonight.

Shogunto is a Ranger/Druid. The "Hunter" thing is just because of the feat "Shapeshifting Hunter" that confuses me, so I dumbtyped it wrong. Shogunto will keep evolving in both - I think two more levels of Ranger and everything else druid, something on these lines. :)

@ DM Papa.DRB:

Hi! I know this is an eleventh hour submission, but I'll give it a go.

Front line tank: ragebread (wereboar) barbarian here. He's all about fighting, of course. As a barbarian, he also has a few skills.

The only magic item he has is +1 armour.

It's a character I never had a chance to use. I just tweaked him a bit per your set up rules. Might need to adjust the back story a bit.

Apart from that, I think he should be ready to go.

I'll check in later today to see if you think there's any changes that should be made for Hanzir.

Thanks!

Grayson will progress in the rogue class from here on out

Straight Ranger, but will multiclass if it is needed for the party later on.

Straight Vivisectionist Alchemist for this girl; Frontlining everything, but no-pre-game crafting really puts a damper on her defensive abilities (Combined with low wealth, which is annoying).

Sovereign Court

Put together Krag Vinder, a half-orc (well, semi-small-amount-orc) fighter (tactician)/rogue.

A few notes:

Background info: Krag's originally from Riddleport but left under a dark cloud. (Er, that's not a Second Darkness reference.) He wound up in Sandpoint after traveling for a few years with his uncle's caravan. He's originally from a very poor family and has had many lean years trying to scrape by, which is reflected in some of his half-orc alternative race traits.

Role: Krag can hold his own in melee a bit (though he's not as tough as a full-on fighter) and will really excel if he has a flanking buddy. He has the various stealth-and-traps suite of rogue skills, as well as a +10 Survival (since one of the players mentioned that the party's best Survival at the moment is +6) and some knowledge (geography and local), plus some mobility skills (Acrobatics, a little Climb and Swim). He does not do the social rogue stuff, which also means no bluff-and-feint.

Crunchy bits: Krag is not a "highly optimized" character -- in particular, he has a high Strength and Dexterity at the same time, so there's a little MAD going on -- but he should be adequate for most roguish uses. I picked his feats with an eye to improving his well-roundedness and shoring up some defenses. Notably, I also spent a chunk of his starting gear on adamantine armor so he has DR 1/-, which will help to eke out slightly more staying power in combat. I picked his traits based on elements that would synergize with the character but also make sense for his background.

About me: I'm a board regular, currently running 3 games and playing in a few (though it looks like two of the games in which I play just collapsed due to the DMs disappearing). I like roleplaying but I am not averse to throwing dice and hacking up monsters, too.

Quick question. My character has claws, are those catfolk claw blades permissible as a result?
