The Alchemist Grenadier archetype has this ability at 6th:
At 6th level, a grenadier can detonate a bomb so that it splashes in a 20-foot cone rather than affecting a radius. The cone starts at the alchemist and extends away from her in the direction she chooses. The alchemist designates one creature in the squares affected by the cone to be the target of the bomb and makes her attack roll against that creature; all other squares in the cone take splash damage. If the alchemist has the explosive bomb discovery and throws an explosive directed blast, the cone of splash damage is 30 feet long instead of 20 feet. This ability replaces swift poisoning.
1> RAW, does this mean i can designate an enemy in the back row as the target of bomb blast, while the enemies closer to me take splash?
2> Can I effectively bomb around corners with the Directed Blast?
3> What has the most area: an Explosive 10ft radius, or an Explosive 30ft cone? I'm trying to guestimate what has the best bomb damage vs enemies return.

1) yes
2) no, because the cone starts in the square you're in, not the square next to you.
3) 10' radius = 12 squares. 30' cone = 36 squares (I think?) so cone. Just remember, cone has an effective range of 0, while you can fling the radius.
Close, 30' cone is 24 squares.

10' radius is a little confusing.
Normally throw splash weapon targets a square and splashes to all adjacent squares. So 9 squares on 5' radius.
A hit deals direct hit damage to the target, and splash damage to all creatures within 5 feet of the target. If the target is Large or larger, you choose one of its squares and the splash damage affects creatures within 5 feet of that square.
...
You can instead target a specific grid intersection. Treat this as a ranged attack against AC 5. However, if you target a grid intersection, creatures in all adjacent squares are dealt the splash damage, and the direct hit damage is not dealt to any creature. You can't target a grid intersection occupied by a creature, such as a Large or larger creature; in this case, you're aiming at the creature.
You guys are referring to the spell area of effect templates while bombs are referring to throw splash weapon. The difference is targeting a square vs targeting an intersection.
Explosive Bomb should be 21 squares on a 10' radius

Normal 20' Cone should be 11 if I have my diagnols correct.

And 30' cone is already in the book at 24 squares.

The first square of the cone begins in front of you (normally) right? So:
------x
----xx
Pxxx
----xx
------x
Is there a reason that by the wording, you couldn't drop the bomb in the square in front of you as normal but face it to right or to the left? Technically the cone still begins at you and travels away... It would be like tossing a claymore on the ground in front of you, facing to the side.
------x
----xx
--xxx Player facing up ^
--Pxx
------x
Which could technically let you fire around a corner, if you were standing at one. And no I'm not advocating this, simply entertaining the theory lol.
