Ho lads and lassies! Let's git on with tha show!

*Edit* - so a couple of questions I wanted to ask:

Can we pool our resources before the adventure starts? We should get a wand of infernal healing (assuming nobody objects to such spells). I still have a bunch of gold I haven't spent.

How do you want to handle the HP of Kirzon's snake companion? Right now, it actually has 3 HD. I think there are quite a few ways to handle it. Here are the most natural ones that come to mind.
- Actually roll each hit die
- Average roll per dice
- Max for the first 2 HD, roll the 3rd and subsequent HD
- Max for all 3 HD, roll subsequent HD
Anyway, I'm okay with whatever approach; just need to figure out the number to write down on the sheet.

I spent most of my gp...

I would prefer the Celestial Healing spell too?

=)

Celestial Healing seems pretty awful for a wand, 1 hit point as opposed to Infernal Healing 10, or cure lights d8+1. I spend the majority of my GP to so we can probably just figure it out in game.

Ok, I didn't realize they changed the duration between the two. I assumed they were just two sides of the same spell.

Reaping Stone Campaign: Under Cassomir

Kirzon:

1. Pooling of resources no. You will have a chance in game but at the start no.

Btw I am new to this infernal and celestial healing but from what I have read in their descriptions I have no problems with them being purchased.

2. For Boros hp roll for each hd.

Greetings all looking forward to the game. I also spent pretty much all of my gold some additional healing is always nice but assuming you keep me alive I should be able to do the same for you ;).

Just don't expect me to fight like.....anything.

Alright, let's do this:

Boros HP: 3d8 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) = 7 Ouch! Well, he'll focus on harassing squishier enemies as opposed to tanking.

Reaping Stone Campaign: Under Cassomir

ouch Boros might be better described as a large gardener snake.

Tanks are overrated. Just get a cardboard box for him to hide in and he can scout and assassinate for us.

Hey Merelda after reading your bio it seems we are both devotes of Calistria looking a man (this is not the start of a dating Ad i swear) whose connection is to Basila, would we want to write in that we have some acquaintanceship and are perhaps joined forces to seek out this one man for both of our mutually beneficial purposes. Your seeking vengeance on behalf of the church, i want his map that kinda deal.

Excellent all 6 accounted for. Over the weekend I'll be reading over your backgrounds again and trying to determine what interactions you may have had up until with one another. So I will probably have some questions for each of you.

These are open discussions so the rest of the players will have a better idea how to interact with your character. My plan here is to make this introduction more than 'you all meet in the tavern one dark night.'

Merelda/Innis: As Innis has indicated your backgrounds are similar and this is not coincidental that I put you in the same group.

  • As clergy of Calistra do you both know each other?
  • If YES are you on good relations with one another? If not what happened?
  • If NO have you heard of one another through a superior or a colleague
  • Are you both after the same person. YES or NO?
  • If YES do you both know that you are seeking the same man?

subject to Mere's approval

Did not know each other prior, Mere (being an inquisitor) might have heard of me considering my prior standing with the church and Lady Phoenix and thus our alliance had a shaky start.

She brought the whip so we might have a budding friendship now ;)

The local church and individual investigation directed us towards each other as other leads were scarce.

both after the same person we both know we are know we are seeking the same person. confirmed after we pooled our Intel.

Innis:

  • What is your standing with the church currently?

Kirzon:

  • How long have you lived outside the city?
  • How often do you find yourself in the city?
  • Do you have any other contacts other than Vasaro?
  • If so who? (name/profession, anything special about the person)

Lililinda:

  • How long have been in the city?
  • Do you have a room at the Pike and Tankard?
  • Are you freeloading off of Vasaro?
  • If NO how are you supporting yourself in Cassomir?
  • If YES has Vasaro and/or Basila shown any resentment ?
  • Have you made any other contacts through business or otherwise?
  • If so who? (name/profession, anything special about the person)

Nicias:

  • How close are you to your uncle and cousin?
  • Do you work at the inn to pay for room and board?
  • How long since you have been in Cassomir following the disbandment of your regiment?
  • What is your reaction to your uncle having this stranger (Him'Wazir nar Maekra) around the inn all the time? Do you treat him like a Qadiran (although he is a Kelishite)?
  • Have you interacted with Him'Wazir at all?

Him'Wazir:

  • What was Vasaro's reaction to you when he first saw him after all these years?
  • How long have you been in the city?
  • What do you think of Nicias, Vasaro's nephew?
  • Have you had any run ins with the constables or others who probably mistake you for Qadiran?
  • If so did Vasaro have to save you somehow?

  • Him had a standing offer to visit, but given the time distance, and most importantly the fact that Vasaro thought he had died some six years ago he was pretty surprised to be taken up on it. The two spent several days getting uproariously drunk, talking about killing gnolls, women, and in the small hours when their mood turned sour about their respective ordeals in captivity.

  • About two and a half weeks, he is just beginning to feel he has outstayed his welcome, though Vasaro has assured him he is not.

  • He has spent a fair bit of time drinking with the lad, who seems a good enough sort. Vasaro and Him have both enjoyed regaling him with an onslaught of increasingly fanciful, and horrific, war stories; The old timers have a private based on Nicias and Basila's reactions to their tales, points for eye rolling, sighs, leaving, and ten points if they can make a youngster vomit!
  • Well it would not be a mistake - he is a Keleshite from Keleshite Satrap of Quadira, but would call himself Quadiran first - he has had run in with the guard; but being non threateningly gaunt, fairly charming, coupled with a few coin tricks, a few selectively chosen truths, and a number of very dirty jokes about Quadiran's relationships with their camels - most of which he learned from Vasaro - he was able to part on friendly terms. His voice, is also a broken rasp so he doesn't really sound Quadiran, just extremely raspy - he gets a lot of healers recommended to him.

Kirzon has lived outside the city for roughly the past five years (assuming that Vasaro and Basila have been around much longer).

He probably comes into the city 2-3 times a month, because he misses ale! Used to be more, but Kirzon has grown more comfortable with the outdoors over time. He'll spend the night at the Pike and Tankard, if he's had one too many to drink. He also takes the opportunity to purchase and barter goods.

Kirzon has the following additional contacts in Cassomir:
- Silvio, operator of a specialty store for "adventurers." Kirzon occasionally buys survival gear for getting along in the wilderness, much as he did in his days as a lumberjack. As a wizard himself, Silvio is often curious about druidic magic, which he claims does not fit in well with what he was taught about arcane and divine magic.
- Leoni, a local tanner. Kirzon's go-to for selling snake hides and other curiosities of the swamp, which is enough income to let him get by when he has business in town.
- Lucia, a cartographer. Specializes in navigational maps for sailors, but sells all sorts of other maps. Kirzon likes to chat about faraway lands with Lucia. He's also helped Lucia with mapping parts of the Verduran Forest and Blackwood Swamp. What he doesn't tell her is that he has intentionally provided incorrect information at times, to shield certain natural and druidic sites.

  • Not too close. Nicias grew up in a quiet town, his uncle and cousin were too far away for more than a handful of visits. That's partly why he came here as the family would be unlikely to come after him any time soon.
  • If that is what Vasaro wants him to do. Mostly he just sets up the barrels, fetches water from the well, or lugs around any heavy equipment needed - nothing too onerous as he is not much use with the clientele (except to get drunk with them). He is somewhat abusing his Vasaro's hospitality and he knows it, though he intends to repay him someday, somehow.
  • A couple of weeks. He probably turned up a few days after Him arrived, just as Vasaro was recovering from his hangover.
  • Having observed him (and got drunk with him) over the past couple of weeks, he has realised that he is a genuine friend of his uncles. He has also worked from some of his improbable stories that he is most probably Qadiran, but out of defernce to his Uncle (and because it would be a gross insult to hospitality) he has kept his suspicions to himself. He also recognises an ex-Military man recovering from a blow. Besides, one does not rat on ones drinking companions - even if they are Qadiran. And there are enough people of Kelishite background in Taldane that it is not unheard of for one to be here. Besides, it is all just suspicion - a few improbable drunken stories do not constitute proof.
  • He has got drunk with Him (no pun intended) a few times, and listened to his improbable drunken stories. He considers him a drinking buddy, but has not enquired too closely about his past.

Just to point out that Quadira is part of the Empire of Kelesh, and the vast majority of Quadiran's are Keleshites. I guess its like being Caucasian, but French and European, etc. Him is ethnically Keleshite, but nationally Quadiran, and a subject of the Padishah Empire of Kelesh via the Satrap of Quadira.

Currently in good standing however to be admitted to the "inner secrets" a worthy token must be presented to the church hence the map and "treasure" hidden with in the vault. Alternatively infamy/fame or an obvious sign of the goddess' blessing would also be acceptable if slower paths to this goal.

That being said should the chance arise to wreak some personal vengeance upon Lady Phoenix she would likely take it, all vengeances serve the goddess one way or another.

  • No contacts yet, other than Vasaro

Lililinda is highly charming and confident, able to present herself as a high-class person, yet lacks any real-world survival skill. She's going to have some trouble before she can figure out how to support herself independently.

As to how she is connected to Vasaro, I submit that her father did a tour as an alchemist for the Taldan army alongside Vasaro. When Lililinda was looking to set out on her own, her father referred her to his old army buddy he had kept in touch with, as a contact to help her get settled.

This is kinda funny. I have one PbP group I play with where everybody has a speed of 20, except for my character who is monk with speed 30, and at least 2 characters have 17 str or better!

We are going to have to out-think our enemies a lot, rather than bully through them all the time.

Looks at the card for a moment in mild amusement. "7 of spades nets me no win but a favorable card none the less, ask your question." inclines herself in a minor seated bow towards Him'Wazir.

We may be weak, but we're rocking some pretty impressive diplomacy :)

"Ah, I wonder which am I? But getting things wrong can be so much fun! If we are playing for questions I could always promise to ask you to take off some clothes, I am nothing if not accomodi... acrom.. helpful, but not quite that."

Flashing a smile at Innis, "Alas my Queen beats your six, so... What brings you to Cassomir's scenic, is that right? Scenish? Docks."

"I am The Wind I travel where I may. Perhaps I seek something new, something old something that is one in the same."

He's just trying to be more eloquent in a second language than he is capable of.

"Bah, tch, very well "The Wind", I am not the only one cheating it seems! As well I listen to the wind - and I am getting older so I too often do," Him scoffs genially, "I do not suppose you wish to describe what you seek without riddles? Who knows perhaps one of us here has spied whatever it is, stranger things have happened."

"Cheating!?" she asks shocked and appalled but clearly mocking for the sake of amusement. "I dare say I have done nothing of the sort the victor is blessed with the opportunity to ask a question. We never specified on the nature of the answers. I see in you another folly of Man, seeking to unravel a mystery before it's time and in your haste it seems you have been caught in an admission of guilt laid-bare for all to behold. Your win is void, as such I should pose a question of my own. I would ask the scoundrel before me, if he has the need to revenge himself upon those that caused the loss of his limbs?"

How about Lililinda's alchemist father being an instructor for your politically ill-fated regiment? I don't know how it would ever come into play, I just saw a potential for a connection.

Sounds good to me. I can either casually mention that I had a gnome instructor in the army, and you can put two and two together, or you could mention your clan name and I would recall a gnome instructor with that name...depends on how things play out.

Just noticed I had not given Him Gnoll as a language, which he really ought to have, so replaced Varisian with it.

"Ahhh, ehh? I find revenge to be very tiring, plus I can barely tell one dog faced bastard from another so I have the less wearisome goal of slaughtering every last one of the mongrel sons of b$#*~es and setting up a business to sell their skulls as chamber pots. When I have regained my former strength I will return to articu... artistu... articulate? Articulate, yes, my displeasure." Him'Wazir's eyes glaze over as he speaks, and bony fingers curl tightly about the hilt of his scimitar.

We may not have much combat strength, but we sure have a lot of charmers! Why do the fighting yourself when you can get someone else to do it for you?

The old bearded dwarf watched from his usual spot at the bar, bemused at the conversation in the nearby table. It wasn't everyday that a Keleshite man entered a bar in Taldor. Yet he seemed to be trying to charm not one but three beautiful ladies. I guess it pays to be an exotic foreigner? He takes another long sip of his ale.
