Cleaving Smash+All-Consuming Swing

Advice

I was searching the SRD for ways to make Vital Strike more viable, and I came across these two feats: Cleaving Smash. (from the two handed weapon trick) and All-Consuming Swing. Together, they let you deal Vital Srike+Improved Vital Strike to the first creature you hit with your cleave, and then regular VS damage to everyone else.

What does everyone think about using these feats with Orc-Hewer on a Duergar Fighter? Getting Multiple attacks out of Vital Strike seems really strong, even if they have to be against different people. You could also get Staggering Blow for AoE crowd control, and a Mighty Cleaving weapon so that you could strike the second creature twice with regular VS damage.

It's a lot of feats, but it seems like a powerful build for a Fighter, especially wielding a butchering axe. What does everyone here think?

Scarab Sages

I was just thinking about a Cleaving Smash build and saw this post from not too long ago. I've seen a Dwarves Barbarian/Alchemist that made great use of the Dwarves Cleaving feats, basically making up for a lower BAB from the Alchemist dip by relying on Cleaving for extra attacks instead of iteratives.

Cleaving Smash requires Improved Vital Strike, so it comes online very late (or mid-levels, depending on your campaign. Late for PFS).

I'll give it some though. I hadn't really figured up what a build would look like. I was just wondering about the possibilities.

Is there a way to get Improved Vital Strike early as a bonus feat?
