Wraith of the Righteous Adventure Path OP question

I have another question today:

Would I still remove from game cards that are basic (or elite later on), as stated on the Adventure Path? I was confused on this, because the Guild guide tells you not to remove from play.

You follow the instructions on the Adventure Path. Where does the guide say not to remove cards from play?

Assuming you mean Season of the Righteous (as this is in the Guild section) and using the Guide 3.0: they accidentally omitted the "Preparing the Game Box" sidebar that gives you options on handling Basic and Elite cards in Guild play.

We purge them on the fly, returning (Scenario AD Number)-3 Basic and Elite cards that aren't Basic Blessings to the box and getting a replacement when they're first seen by a player.

You could also remove them all before playing (the other option in the sidebar) or play normally and remove them as they leave, though that might be difficult if you play with multiple groups.

If you're not using the Guild rules, it's your choice.

I'm having problems bringing up my guide, but I think it goes like:

If a card you encounter tells you to remove a card, instead return that card to the box and replace it with a card of the same type.

Are you referring to this?

If you encounter a boon that require you to remove it from the game to activate its power, you must instead exchange that boon with a random boon of the same type from the game box and encounter that card.

It's very clear that this only refers to cards you remove from the game to activate its power. (Pretty sure there are no such cards in Runelords.) There's no contradiction between this and the Adventure Path's directive to remove Basics and Elites after beginning Adventure 3.
