Deciding on what physical books to buy

Advice

Recently I have been collecting physical products for my Pathfinder games, and I have almost the entire RPG line:

  • Core (2)
  • Advanced Player's Guide
  • Advanced Race Guide
  • Ultimate Combat (2)
  • Ultimate Magic
  • Ultimate Equipment
  • Ultimate Campaign
  • Pathfinder Unchained
  • Psionics Unleashed
  • Psionics Expanded
  • Advanced Class Guide (in-transit)
  • Ultimate Intrigue (in-transit)
  • Ultimate Psionics (in-transit)

From the RPG line (the main line that I care about) I am missing the Strategy Guide (one of my players has it), the Gamemastery Guide, any of the Bestiaries, Mythic Adventures, either Codex, and Occult Adventures.

I'm really not sure what books I really need beyond what I have. Specifically the GMG seems like it might not be necessary, I'm unaware of what hard rules are in the book that I would find useful, especially since my main reason for having physical books is for my players during the game.

I also have like, all the pdfs and a (albeit crappy) tablet available for us.

You already have quite the collection.

I would pick up Bestiary I so that you have the creatures than can be summoned by Summon Monster or Summon Nature's Ally spells.

After that, I'm not sure there are any other books you will need. The GMG certainly isn't something that is usually needed during a game and is available online.

I would suggest two books you didn't list though, Familair Folio and Animal Archive. I'm not sure if you can still get a print version of the second. These two books add a number of good options to familiars and animal companions. If your players like characters with "pets", these non-core books are likely worth the purchase.

I'd pick up the Bestiary first, as it's always nice to have those on hand. Occult Adventures has several really interesting new classes to play with (and I've found the online sources for it less well organized than the actual book). Strategy Guide seems like it's more tailored for beginners, so I don't know if I'd bother with that unless you want to have it to show to new players. Gamemastery Guide is nice to have, but not 100% essential.

And for all the books you don't have, the rules/classes/etc. are available online on the PRD, d20psfrd, or Archives of Nethys, so it really comes down to what you'd prefer to have physical copies of.

Oddly enough I have Animal Archive.

Familiar Folio is a good call though.

Bestiaries are a great addition and easier to use then pdf.

You also seem to like Psionics so consider some of the print versions of Dreamscarred Press books.

I will say this, having a physical copy makes quickly searching for spell descriptions way easier.
