'great the Halfling put one down and I keep missing, time to earn my keep' Ivar rolls his eyes as he places his boot on the banana tree and jerks his axe loose, "AAARRRGGGHHH" with a roar he swings his axe at the last zombie.

last night

Ivar cleans the gore off of his axe as he smiles at the Colonel, Your mean like that Colonel?" turning to Malok he agrees, "Ridiculous indeed, at least we know the island is inhabited, or at least was."

Nodding to Janzadar as he heals everyone, "Thank you for the healing, I hope everyone sleeps well, tomorrow will be a busy day." At the end of his watch Ivar returns to his bedroll, waking as the sun rises.

Today

Ivar returns his bedroll to his rucksack, eating a little of the left over cold sea creatures and hardtack. After washing in the ocean he puts his armor on and asks. "Janzadar had a good idea last night, some of us should explore and some should stay at the camp. Who shall go exploring? Anyone have any ideas what direction they want to go in or what they want to look for?"

@ drbuzzard, you said that Aery, Jask, and Sasha were "cooperative" should they go with the party or should they stay at the camp?

@ the party, we need a marching order, Ivar has a perception and survival of +5 not the best not the worst, I would like to be near the front for combat, but don't mind following a scout.


For my sake, leave the NPCs at the camp because I have no desire to run them.

Ivar looks from the Bonuwat to the Tengu, shrugging his shoulders, "So lets follow the coast for the first part of the day and then come back to the camp." he points toward the clockwise direction and adds "May as well head that direction."

As he shifts his rucksack on his shoulders he smiles and asks, "Colonel would you like to take the front with me? We may need someone with military experience to lead."

You head along the shore, following the beach to the east. Things are rather pleasant really. It's nice and sunny, if a bit hot, and the waves gently wash up on the shore. Eventually you spy a wrecked ship on an island off the coast. Reaching it would not be a trivial matter as it is a couple hundred yards off shore.

Ivar points to the water and then out to the Island, "Shall we go for a swim, the water looks fairly clear, we can see if there is anything useful on the Island or the shipwreck. There might be a dingy or something we can use to build a raft in the wreckage."

Ivar shrugs his shoulders, resting his axe over the top of the right one, he continues on following behind their avian guide. "It's ok with me, I'm just enjoying the walk on the beach."


You continue to wander down the beach.

(just to make this simple, during idle conversation with Sasha, she had mentioned that she would like a pet, and the little flying lizards were 'cute'. )

At one point, you pass by a cliff overlooking the ocean. you notice a dimorphodon nest.


'couldn't hurt to try and butter Sasha up a little bit.' seeing the nest on the cliff Ivar asks, "Hey didn't Sasha mention she would like one of those lizards as a pet, do you think if we capture a little one she could raise it?" Ivar veers of the beach slightly to see if there was a way to the top of the cliff. "Anyway if a couple of us climb up there we could take a look around, see how big this island is, right?"

Ok, what is the next step to catching a lizard?


In the grand old Pathfinder murder hobo tradition, beating it senseless and binding it will work. Otherwise it would involve something like wild empathy, a spell, or something else which renders it safe.

There is 1d3 ⇒ 1 dimorphodon in the nest.

Oh, you will also have to climb up the cliff to the nest of course.

Ivar, smiles at Janzadar, dropping his pack, "I would be happy to make the climb." He then nods to Malok, "Malok, you have a good relationship with your bird, do you think you could get one of the lizards to come with us?"

'not that kind of druid, I guess that answers the question "are there more than one type of druid?" Smiling to himself Ivar looks a Malok turning his smile into a grin, "Well should I ask if your the type of druid that loves to climb?"

He shakes his head as he sets his axe down and places his pack beside it beginning to take off his scale armor. "Never mind, just my warped sense of humor. I will take a rope with me and drop it to anyone else that wants to climb up."

Retrieving his rope and blanket from his pack he wraps the blanket around his waist and then wraps the rope to hold it in place, explaining. "Unless someone has a better idea I will knock the lizard unconscious, wrap it in the blanket and tie it up then climb back down."

Then hanging his shield on his back he begins to climb the cliff. As he climbs he asks, "If anyone sees it's mom please kill it before it knocks me off the cliff ok?"

@ drbuzzard, without the armor he's at + 8, can he "take 10" or "take 20" climbing the cliff face, or do you want me to start rolling?


You cannot take 20 or 10 when climbing as there are consequences from failure.

The cliff is 40' up to the nest.

You can try knowledge nature to see if this is an adult or youngin.

'Guess I should have asked if it was an adult before I went to all that trouble.' Looking a little embarrassed Ivar starts to put his gear away and put on his armor. "Guess I should have asked first, huh, Janzadar. Shall we continue going on down the beach?"
