making a void wizard work

Advice

One of my players (another new one) is looking for help with a Pathfinder sorcerer. He's making a generalist caster, and his build is fairly solid. He rolled good stats and basically has his build done.

Most of his offensive spells come from many different schools of magic, evocation, enchantment, and transmutation, so a typical Spell Focus build won't help much.

He is making an elf sage sorcerer who is taking VMC wizard, so I was looking into the best choices for his specialization and I landed on Void being the best generalist school. The insight bonus on saves is great, and I thought the big debuff blast thing was a great addition to his character since his offensive spells all require saves and are from different schools. Only problem is the standard action thing, and the fact that it only lasts 1 round so his best offensive spells are going to be off limits to him.

Has anyone found a way to make a Void wizard self sufficient? There is no (afaik) way to quicken supernatural abilities, and his ability to cast quickened spells is limited (10th level, meaning he can only quicken 1st level spells, and would literally have to dump half his wealth into a quicken rod.

My other obvious option would be to go Arcanist, and use reservoir to buff his DCs, but I think this player really likes the sorcerer idea, and likes gaining both the wizard and sorcerer options, plus I physically own the books for most of his selections rather than just the pdfs.

I find that the Void Reveal Weakness is best when paired up with the ability to act in tandem with another caster, or a person with saving throw abilities (such as Dazing Assault, etc). At least until you get Quickened Persistent Spells. You could use Reveal Weakness with lingering effects such as Clouds and spells that force saves each turn (such as Suffocation).

Unfortunately in PF there is no way to speed up Supernatural Abilities, though it does exist in the game of yesteryear if thats something you want to look into.

With the Arcanist, he can choose the Blood Arcanist or the School Savant and hijack the appropriate class features and then take an Exploit to grab the other. You can go Blood and take the School Power exploit for Void and get some uses of the Insight to Saves and the Reveal Weakness a number of times per day.

Maybe they should look at these?

I find summoned monsters work well with Reveal Weakness. They usually have poor DCs, but when you can knock 5 off of the enemies saving throw(at 10) they can hit often enough.

Not to mention the fact that it shaves off AC as well and any beat stick in the party would be happy for that.
