Good class to fit in?

Grand Lodge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I was invited to an existing game to make 7th level character. Other PCs are monk and cleric-necromancer. World is DnD's Eberron.
Allowed content is "everything in Paizo PRD"

What would you people suggest to be a good third PC for this party?
I don't really feel like playing full-casters or character that only can fight.

Also to note - 15 point-buy and only 16k gold, so probably no MAD or item-dependant classes.

Scarab Sages

Dex based magus, melee focused warpriest, melee focused inquisitor.

All have excellent action economy and flexibility.

Hunter is another good choice.

If you want full BAB go ranger or bloodrager.

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32, RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2013 Top 16

I'd go Summoner. It gives the party arcane casting, another beatstick, and lots of problem-solving options via summons.

depending on the campaign slayer can be a good choice since they have skills other than just fighting

Bard or skald could be nice for arcane casting, group buffs and support, and significant archery skills.

Bomb Alchemist with Infusion Discovery

You would cover skills, Control Via Bombs, and Utility/Buffs through your Extracts.

I would say bard/skald but Undead don't benefit from the buffs a Bard brings to the table. So the Monk will love you but I think an Alchemist can offer some awesome Personal buffs to a Monk. Displacement, Blur, Shield, Undead anatomy, Monstrous Phys, ect ect.

Summoner is a very viable option as well as Rainy Day Ninja pointed out. As is a Occultist Arcanist as they summon as a standard action and Can keep the summons for Mins per Level instead of Rounds per level. The Arcanist gives you higher spell slots but the Summoner brings a Eidolon to tag team with the Monk.

Sovereign Court

I would say anything with arcane spells and melee potential... Dragon disciple or mr hyde alchemist maybe
Only a monk in the frintline woldnt be enough... Shure you have undeads but they have some restrictions

Thanks for all suggestions :)
I'm leaning towards Gunslinger Bolt Ace 1/Alchemist Grenadier 6 at the moment.

Grenadier is an excellent choice for this party. Why the level of Bolt Ace, though? Is this a Guns Everywhere type campaign where you can get crossbow training at 1st?

No misfire and I can go stealthy with x-bow :)

Alchemist gets my vote. Great skills, 2 good saves, some arcane, some healing, some AoE with bombs, and a TON of good archetypes to make it fit your style or the needs of party.

If not an alchemist then we need a full BAB ranged attacker, so switch hitter ranger of some kind. Two kinds of battle, skills, good saves, and partial caster.
