Two-Handed Warpriest Advice?

Advice

So, I'm playing as an Oni-Spawn Tiefling of Gorum. We're going to start at level 3 and I'm trying to plan ahead. This seems to have a decent potential so far, but I'm in need of some help optimizing a STR/WIS based Warpriest. Here are my feats and traits as of now:

Blessings: Strength, Glory
Traits: Bloody-Minded, Armor Master
Drawback: Pride
1st: Armor of the Pit, Weapon Focus (javelin)
3rd: Toughness, Power Attack
5th: Intimidating Prowess
6th: Cornugon Smash
7th: Ironbound Master
9th: Improved Critical (greatsword)
11th: Quicken Blessing

As for traits, Armor Master and Bloody-Minded are more-so a role-play decision more than they are optimal, as well as Intimidating Prowess and Cornugon Smash. I'm hoping to make a fierce, steel-clad crusader who excels in battle and intimidation but lacks social coordination and aims to make her own way through the world. I'll work more on personality as I go, but I'm worried about the build for now.
I'm eager to hear what you think of this build so far! Changes are welcome. Thanks, everyone!

I get that you don't want to 'waste' the enhanced damage from the weapon using your free Weapon Focus, but probably 9/10 of your attacks or more will be with the greatsword. The +1 attack on a greatsword will be more useful to you than +1 attack and enhanced damage on javelins.

Generally a drawback allows you a third trait. It's boring but Fate's Favored is effective.

Otherwise it looks solid enough.

Possibly... although there may fairly good reason to give up the extra enhancement.

To put it simply... warpriests have too many swift action abilities. Swift action casting, swift action blessings (particularly with quickened blessing), swift action enhancements to weapons and armor... there is a reason why arsenal chaplain is fairly competitive despite the fact that it gets rid of the latter two (sure, you lose scaling damage dice as well... but you can just use great swords and the like for decent dice- you only lose out a bit at the highest levels, and weapon training more than covers tht).

So preserving the enhancement purely for ranged attacks might not be terrible. I mean... I am pretty sure I would go with bows instead of thrown weapons, but still, the idea is there that it at least gives you a decent, cost effective option when you need ranged attacks.

I might miss the free weapon focus though. That is nice, constant, and no action. I acknowledge that is something to debate over.

Sidenote- I realize you probably know a lot of this already. Just thought I would air it out for any other forumites that may join later.

Are you married to Greatsword? It seems to me that if you want Improved Crit, a high Threat Range is what you want. The advantage of Greatsword is that it does a lot of damage, but as a Warpriest, you can use any weapon you want and do Sacred Weapon Damage instead of regular Weapon Damage.

So, how about using 2 Kukris? With Sacred Weapon Damage, they do 1d6 each at level 1 and 1d10 each by your level 11, and they have a Threat Range of 18-20. Take the Destruction Blessing, and they both do an extra +1 per 2 levels. Maybe take the Luck Blessing to makes Crits more likely. What kind of Deity grants the blessing of Destruction and Luck? Aflack, the God of Insurance!

Maybe then take some Feats that trigger on Crits like Seize the Moment (be a Divine Strategist), Bleeding Critical, or maybe Bull Rush or Tripping strike.

Using 1 big weapon, it seems like the thing to do is to focus on getting lots of attacks with that big weapon: maybe take Great Cleave or work in an Attack of Opportunity build. Maybe Falchion, Seize the Moment, and Great Cleave. Just brainstorming.

You should decide how much cash you want to invest in your weapon. If it isn't keen then you need to insert something to get more crits.

How are you getting Ironbound Master, prerequisite is "cleric 7", not warpriest or fighter?

I talked to my DM, he says that hybrid classes count as both of their parent classes for the sake of feats. Thus, I can take Ironbound Master under his ruling.

As of now, yes! It is the preferred weapon of Gorum, and my character lives and breathes Gorum. Not to mention, high strength and Power Attack synergize well with the greatsword.

Taking 2 kukris doesn't sound like a bad idea, now that you mention it! I won't be able to do as much Power Attacking, but I could rework the build for a dex-based, two-weapon Warpriest. Admittedly, the choice was more thematic, but I'll keep this idea for a later character!

You do have a fair point, Cleave sounds like the obvious choice for a two-weapon fighter. Thanks!

Well, 2 handed fighter, but yeah.
