Why to choose Cavalier - Standard Bearer in a Battle Herald Build

Advice

Hi!
I am just not getting it. All Battle Herald Builds with a 1 Level Chavalier Dip choose the Standard Bearer as PrC like this one or this one.

Usually these builds take the Flagbearer feat due to the synergy effects with the Banner of Ancient Kings.

The Banner Ability gives a +1 on Attacks on charge and a +2 on Fear Saving T. As soon as I have the Flagbearer Feat the bonus on attacks is redundant since both bonusis are moral. The Flagbearer also gives a +1 Fear Bonus. So the only benefit going with the Standard Bearer is a +1 on Fear S.T. Which is not much of a benefit. Do I oversee something here?

Flagbearer won't stack with the Battle Herald's Sound the Charge inspiring command because they both grant Morale bonuses. People take Standard Bearer because those extra levels stack with battle Herald for progression. Why go standard cavalier and get a nonscaling mount?

The primary thing you're missing is the journey. A lot of battle heralds don't spring into existence at level 20 or even level 6. And at level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc you won't have flagbearer. But you will have the banner ability. And when you get banner through battle herald your base banner gets an upgrade.

Plus, all you're giving up is a mount that won't ever be very good if you only take one level of cavalier. It's giving up something for nothing.

(You also may not have flagbearer later if you don't have the 15 charisma (there's little reason for a battle herald to have that much starting out and though you will probably qualify later through a headband, it's not exactly a top priority), and don't (yet) have a banner of the ancient kings).
