New GM Question About Character Power

Advice

My entire gaming group is pretty new to pen and paper, and rather than roll up characters from scratch everyone's selected pregenerated Society characters to play. The group has: Crowe, Ezren, Kess, Lini, and Zadim. I allowed Ezren to respecialize as evoker, but all other players are using the level 1 characters from this site. This isn't in Society organized play or anything, but I made this post here because that's how the characters were built.

While running the first session last night, Crowe did more than half of all damage. Crowe dealt more than 150% of the health of the biggest monster I wanted to throw at the party (a bugbear) in one hit. He crit on a goblin for 38 while not even bloodraging.

We had a bit of a laugh about it, but I'm deeply worried that if this situation is allowed to persist, no one is going to want to play more than two or three times before people get upset. I have no idea how to solve it, though. Last night I simply lied about how much HP the bugbear had, but that's not going to work forever. Can anyone give me some perspective here? Is Crowe really such a powerhouse, or did others inadvertently select underperforming characters? Will this resolve itself by leveling up?

Crowe really is the ultimate powerhouse out of the pregens. He's kind of ridiculous in the damage output department and only gets worse as levels go on. I'd suggest looking at his higher-level versions, figuring out what makes his damage output so ridiculous, and then making differing choices so he doesn't hog so much of the glory.

...Also, make sure the player keeps his Will save high. Just sayin'.

Crowe and Amiri (the Barbarian) do huge damage. They also have very poor ACs, which means they take damage faster. Oloch (the war priest) is also competitive for damage inflicted.

Ezren is not going to compete in direct damage. A wizard does better with other spells rather than going for direct damage. Grease, Glitterdust, other spells that can apply conditions to the creatures or control the battlefield. Ezren blinding an opponent so that others can destroy it is much more effective than trying to do direct damage.

Kess (the brawler) I don't have a lot of experience with.

Lini does alright with buffing the party and sending her pet to attack. She also has some skills that will really help in a wilderness setting. If all you do is dungeons, she will feel a little under powered until she gets Wild Shape and starts using it.

Zadim gives alright melee combined with excellent skills. If you don't have many skill checks, he is also going to feel underpowered.

Martial characters are stronger the lower level they are. Their power wanes a bit as they level up.

Most of a martial characters strength is in their build and stats. This means that if a martial wants to be relevant at level 9, they almost have to be built to absolutely crush level 3.
