Rounding out a party

Reign of Winter

Since my question is partly AP-specific, I thought I'd put this here instead of in the Advice forum though feel free to move it if it would still work better there!

Anyhoo, after a rather unfortunate TPK on the first encounter my group for this is making new characters and I'm not sure of what might be good to fill in with. Currently we stand at 4 players though we might add a 5th once the 4 of us know what we'll be playing. So far it looks like the new characters are likely to be:

A Mesmerist (Vexing Daredevil)
A Spirit Summoner + some sort of eidolon
A Fire Cleric (may or may not Ecclesitheurge)

Originally I'd figured that something like an alchemist or a bard might be useful for skills but it looks like the Mesmerist is rather bard-like itself except with psychic magic instead of arcane. Any suggestions?

I am currently running Reign Of Winter and the party consist of
Level 2-Warpriest-worshiper of Justitia
Level 2-Unchained Rogue
Level 2-Inqusitor witch hunter
Level 2-Wizard conjuration
Level 2 Alchemist- Which I am playing as.

So far they have not had any major issue except encounter with the two ice elementals by the broken ice. They failed the disable device check on the snowman trap. But everything else they had encounter went by without any issues.

Did the TPK happen on the zombie encounter?

Yeah, we had a paladin, an inquisitor, a wizard and a shaman. Unfortunately the paladin (me) got caught flat-footed and one-rounded right off the bat. The others did manage to drop two of the zombies but the DM rolled really really well on their attacks and we rolled rather poorly.

Yeah they actually got the upper hand on the zombies. Everyone literally rolled high on perception check and heard noise coming from the carriage. So they opened the door from the side and the warpriest and rogue got a free attack on them.

Yeah bad rolls can cause that issue. That sucks that happened. I say keep the Paladin because his detect evil will come in handy. Your original party seemed really good in my opinion. Just really bad rolls.

I ran this AP all the way through and the Paladin in the party survived to the end. It was a great class to include (from their perspective and mine) and I'd recommend it as a good class for any group playing this AP.

Anyway the group was made up of:

Paladin of Erastil (Aasimar, so he decided to go down the route of angelic feats rather than combat ones)
Investigator
Oracle of Saranrae (I changed the god as part of a side mission, won't spoil it for you though)
Ranger (although he left during book 5)
Druid, who became a Sorceror when his character died
Fighter, who became a Bloodrager when his character died

You could also use the new Gray Paladin archetype in the Ultimate Intrigue rules, allowing LN or NG paladins... thought they lose several abilities as a result.

Is there a pink Paladin, or would that be in Ponyfinder. :-)

How about a gnome bloodrager with her heart in the right place that really wants to be a paladin but is waaaay too chaotic to hack it? Might be a bit silly for some and I know the 'paladin but not ACTUALLY a paladin' concept isn't anything new, but I like the idea just the same :3

Just starting this campaign up and we have a fuschia paladin (of Shelyn). With a toucan familiar.

That's to go along with:
a Beastrider Cavalier
a Winter Witch
a fey-blooded sorceress
a Cleric of Cernunnos
and an Inquisitor of Desna

Spoiler:
actually, an infiltrator inquisitor of Norgorber pretending to worship Desna
