Last Friday saw the spectacular debut of the latest installment in the Legendary Planet Adventure Path, with the awesome adventure To Worlds Unknown for both Pathfinder and 5th Edition! That's a big adventure in a star-spanning saga, taking your heroes right out of this world and into the cosmos, and we think you'll love every bit of it! However, everything big had to start small, and that's where Legendary Beginnings come in.

No matter how long you've been playing RPGs, a challenge for gamers is bringing new players into the hobby, whether friends our age or younger players. Starter sets and boxes for beginners are great but not enough, and that's why we started Legendary Beginnings, products designed to be tons of fun for experienced gamers with structure and content suitable for new gamers and younger players. The first adventure, Into the Feyweald, has received very positive feedback, but single adventures are one thing. We had bigger plans in mind, and with that, we invite you to support the Trail of the Apprentice Kickstarter, scheduled to begin next week! You can check out the first big announcement right here or keep on reading!

Trail of the Apprentice is a 5-part series of exciting adventures suitable for all ages, available for 5th Edition and Pathfinder. These modules use simplified stat blocks and other rules adjustments to keep gameplay fun and fast for new players, with helpful sidebars that provide advice on how to run RPGs for younger gamers so your whole family can Make Your Game Legendary!

We are delighted to have a talented creative team on Trail of the Apprentice, including lead author Paris Crenshaw, Mike Welham, Linda Zayas-Palmer, Matt Goodall, Amanda Hamon Kunz, and more lending their talents to this spectacular series of adventures! The first four adventures in the series all have been written and the fifth is well underway, along with bonus material for stretch and the campaign setting of Terralien inspired in part by the American Colonial era. Artwork for the AP is likewise nearly half-done, with the final art and map orders going out this week! When the Kickstarter ends on April 22nd, backers will be able to immediately download the first several adventures, and if all goes well they'll be able to get all five as soon as the project closes, with print versions and the full compilation with bonus material available by the end of May!

NOTE: The creative team for Legendary Beginnings is entirely separate from the crew working on the Legendary Planet Adventure Path, save for some bonus goal contributions from authors that have already completed their work on Legendary Planet. Progress on Legendary Planet will not be delayed by anyone working on Trail of the Apprentice! We are excited to get both adventure series in your hands as soon as possible!

Our regular product cycle continues as well! For 5th Edition, we are looking forward to the release this week of Beasts of Legend: Construct Codex (5E), featuring nearly a dozen creepy constructs themed for horror, from the bloodthirsty manikin to the crowflight carriage and the griever morgech to the living crematory!

Our Pathfinder fans can look forward to this week's release of Occult Archetypes, with almost 20 new character options for their occult characters, and speaking of occult, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention it's also MYTHIC MONDAY, which brings us Mythic Minis 82: Occult Feats II, from Psychic Virtuoso to Xenoglossy and more, which is available NOW at the Legendary Games webstore, Paizo, Open Gaming Store, and DrivethruRPG!

Semi-final tweaks made to our Kickstarter page. A few more edits on the graphics, and we should be ready to submit the project for approvals to Kickstarter!

Approvals back from Kickstarter, final art order and map orders going out today.

LEGENDARY BEGINNINGS is about to BEGIN!

Sounds awesome! One of my friends would probably love to get her daughter involved in Pathfinder.

Can you send me a message when it comes out?

Will the Occult archetypes be only for Occult classes? A medium barbarian or a psychic oracle would be much needed.

The archetypes in this book are for the six new psychic classes, plus rules for psychic monsters, interfacing with elemental wizards, and more.

We are working on a followup product that addresses occult archetypes for classes outside the book (including some hybrid class concepts); a psychically empowered barbarian is one we've gotten a few times. So that is coming later this year.

Meanwhile, Occult Archetypes hit some a delay in layout and it didn't get into Paizo before approvals closed Friday, so it won't be available here until Monday; however, you can pick it up right now at the Legendary Games webstore!

Amidst all the Trail of the Apprentice Kickstarter launch excitement, we'd be remiss if we forgot to announce that there are THREE amazing new products available now from Legendary Games this weekend too!

- Planetary Heroes (Neil Spicer and Jeff Provine) - 8 amazing characters for a sword and planet campaign

- Scorpions of Perdition (Alex Riggs and Nic Logue) - a terrifying 8th-level Pathfinder adventure blending fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and western themes in mix of marvelous menace!

- Occult Archetypes (Julian Neale) - nearly 20 new archetypes and even more class options for occult characters in Pathfinder RPG!

- plus even more amazing stuff coming next week!

Get the latest right here, and get ready for a triple-dose of horror whether you're rocking the fantasy world or off among the stars! Pick them up wherever Pathfinder products are sold, and help spread the word about the Trail of the Apprentice introductory adventure saga for Pathfinder (and 5E)!

Any new Heroes supplements coming for other adventure paths? I'd love to see pre-generated characters for Egyptian or giant-killing campaigns

As a matter of fact, YES! We are getting artwork done now for Egyptian Heroes, which should be on track for a summer release!

We are excited to announce that the Trail of the Apprentice Kickstarter for Pathfinder and 5E has doubled its funding goal with almost a week left to go! We're super-excited about brand-new bonus goals, like a set of pregenerated characters for the compilation ready to use right out of the box plus a set of new fiends of the Shadescar Rift by Mike Welham!

Next goal in sight is for a brand-new piece of cover art for the compilation, with more bonus goals besides for number of backers, Facebook likes, and more! We thank each and every one of you for your support, both those of you who have pledged and those of you who have helped spread the word. We hope all of you can keep us spreading the good word about Trail of the Apprentice for a spectacular six-day streak to the finish!

Of course, just because we're running a Kickstarter doesn't mean we aren't still bringing you a ton of great new product! Last week we brought you the Tomes of Ancient Knowledge and Treasury of the Macabre, bringing you a wealth of horror-themed loot for your 5th Edition campaign, and this week we bring you another load of loot, this time from the tombs and treasures of fantasy Egypt with Treasury of the Pharaohs!

With over 30 brand-new magic items themed for deserts and ruins of ancient fallen kingdoms and their mysterious monoliths, this book is sure to please the most dedicated treasure hunters! Pick it up today at the Legendary Games webstore, Paizo, Open Gaming Store, or DrivethruRPG!

Better still, if you love for your 5th Edition game, next week we should be ready to debut the Treasury of the Kingdom, with nearly 40 new magic items around the theme of faerie forests, wilderness exploration, and the conquest and ruling of your own kingdom!

We also have a special bonus for our customers at the Legendary Games webstore: since I was camping on this past Monday, I wasn't able to post up the latest Mythic Mini devoted to the occult: Mythic Minis 85: Medium, Psychic, and Spiritualist Feats. You can pick it up in wide release wherever fine Pathfinder products are sold on next MYTHIC MONDAY as usual, but you can pick it up right now here at the Legendary Games webstore!

We'll have just one more Mythic Mini in this series before we switch our focus to feats of intrigue and more, celebrating the mystery and machinations unveiled in Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Ultimate Intrigue, starting the first Monday in May!

Four days left to go and over $13,000!

This terrific project just keeps getting better and better. Help us fly into a fantastic finish, with stretch goals at 250 backers (currently 240) to bring Matt Goodall's simplified gunslinger to the table, and at $14,000 (currently $13,050) to get brand-new cover art for the compilation version, and 1,500 Facebook likes (currently 1,463) to secure a d20Pro game of Trail of the Apprentice personally run by lead author Paris Crenshaw!

Help us spread the word, and even if you can drop by with a dollar you can help us reach backer goals for everybody!

Three days left to go and over 250 backers!

We are now counting down the hours, with brand-new cover art for the compilation easily within reach, and at $16,000 character cards for the key heroes and villains of the Adventure Path, and at 275 backers (currently 251) bringing Linda Zayas-Palmer's simplified witch character class!

It's an exciting race to the finish and we are thankful to everyone who has helped push this project along the way, from pledges to podcast interviews to just liking and sharing and asking questions along the way!

Now get out there and pledge before we reach the end of the Trail on Friday night!

It's the final day of the Trail of the Apprentice Kickstarter! Hop on the Trail today!

It's been a long Trail, but we are approaching the end. We still have time to hit more bonus goals, though! We thank each and every one of you for your support, but because we love milestones we give a special shout-out to Backer #300, John Bowlin, and to wolfthulu for pushing us over the $17,000 mark!

For hitting the 300-backer mark, we have added a bonus section on Continuing the Campaign! This section will discuss not only the secret master villain behind this Apprentice your heroes have been chasing (and what other apprentices or servants that villain may have), but also more broadly the idea of transitioning from a beginner-style game to a standard Pathfinder or 5E campaign.

We also are closing fast on $18,000, which would be TRIPLE our initial funding goal, and if we hit that number we'll be producing a brand-new Legendary Beginnings adventure. This won't be part of the storyline of Trail of the Apprentice, but we'll be offering you a choice of several different adventure ideas (including a sequel to Into the Feyweald, available as an add-on pledge) and every backer will have a chance to vote on which adventure they'd like to see us do! This adventure would be created after we finish our obligations to Trail of the Apprentice, of course, but if all goes well we may be able to get it done in time for GenCon this August!

Speaking of getting things done, The King's Curse has completed layout for the Pathfinder version and is in layout now for the 5E version, so once we complete our backer surveys you'll be able to get the first TWO adventures in the series next week!

The sketches for the last two pieces of art for the adventures came in last night, and they're looking great. I'm looking forward to the final versions for adventures #3 and #4, and I'm happy to share one below! Meanwhile, keep spreading the word #TrailoftheApprentice - this thing ain't over yet! KEEP CLIMBING THE TRAIL!!!

I'd love to support this Kickstarter but sadly there are too many reasons (financial constraints, lack of interested players, etc.) on why this would not be a good idea for me at this time, :(. Which sucks for me, because I really do like the products put out by Legendary Games - they were literally the first 3PP that convinced me to try using gaming content developed by 3PP, and I haven't regretted that decision since then.

I highly encourage anyone else who is on the fence about supporting this Kickstarter (if because they are not sure about the quality and level of dedication to game design by a 3PP) to take that leap and jump into the wagon with Legendary Games. :)

Cheers!

CB out.

Thanks for the kind words, CB. We're certainly happy to count you among the friends of LG!

We were very pleased with the response to Trail of the Apprentice - almost 350 backers and just over $19,000 including some Paypal direct pledges.

If anyone is interested in hopping on board even after the Kickstarter has closed, you can still email us at makeyourgamelegendary@gmail.com and do a direct pledge via Paypal. We have a few people who have emailed us already whose payday comes at the end of the month, and we're happy to work with them to make sure they have the chance to hop on board, and we're confident you're going to really like what you see when you get these adventures.

Trail of the Apprentice is getting high praise from GMs and players!

Kickstarter Backer "wolfknight75" shared this news with us:
"I just ran the first part of the Trail of the Apprentice 'The Bandits Cave' for my 2 daughters (9 and 11), son (13), and their friend (16). It was a Crit! They were both challenged as well as in awe of the encounters and and colorful NPCs. In fact, as they prepare for the next adventure, my wife is even thinking about joining them. I do want to mention, this is the first time my kids have played with the Pathfinder Rules. Normally we play with Atlas Kings by Hal Burdick (Which is a great beginner rule set too).

"I think you guys did a tremendous job on designing this as a novice adventure with young players in mind. We are moving on to the next leg of the adventure and this time we will have the AWESOME 'Trail of the Apprentice' Soundtrack By BattleBards. I have already listened to it and being a fan of BattleBards already, I wanted to give another shout-out to Legendary Games for making a great decision in choosing them to make the soundtrack. It is perfect and will couple with the adventure to make for an even more enjoyable adventure.

"Again, you guys at Legendary Games have always done great quality and well designed adventures in the past, but I have to say I think this is my favorite so far. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. Great Job!"

Stay tuned for more fun from Legendary Beginnings in 2017!

I for one am very happy with the product by all measures. Can't wait to integrate it into the game that I run for my kids.

I ran a D&D Summer Camp last August using it and we had a great time playing.
