Ways to mitigate charisma damage?

Advice

Grand Lodge

I'm looking for something to help mitigate charisma damage. It could be something similar to Blood Reservoir of Physical Prowess but for mental stats. Any suggestions?

Get a Ring of Delayed Doom? Or just pack some potions of Lesser Restoration?

Grand Lodge

That's a good suggestion. This is for PFS (I should mention that). I just did a scenario recently that had one of those rings (with fewer garnets), I'll have to check if it was with the character I'm intending it for.

And yeah, the potions are my fallback if I can't find some magic item that appears to work better.

And if it comes down to it, a Wand of Lesser Restoration costs 21000 GP, less than half a fully charged Ring of Delayed Doom, and will end up being more useful than than the ring. By the time you can afford the wand it should last the remainder of your PFS career.

Don't dump Charisma to 7 when point buying stats?

Serious answer: Lesser Ring of Inner Fortitude. 18000 gp, but it reduces all ability damage by 2, and all ability drain by 1. (Or is it not PFS approved?)

Too late for that ;)

Good answer, I like this. (and yes, it's PFS approved)

Don't talk? Nobody will notice if you keep your mouth shut ;)

Skill points make up for what charisma gives you as long as it's not a class-required ability score. So yeah, while I do describe myself as ugly, I'm no worse off than someone who doesn't put any skill points into those skills.

Is it damage or drain? If it's the former, ability damage heals at one point per day.

Damage. I'm not so much worried about recovery as I'm worried about being knocked out of a fight.

I'm curious how you got Charisma damage as it's extremely rare!

For PFS, a Ring of Inner Fortitude would be the answer for a character. But for a person IRL, nothing. When you ugly, you ugly. :P

It is not just beauty and ugly. Some ugly, ugly monsters have decent CHA.

So it is worse than being ugly. You boring. You a basic (*expletive deleted*). Truly, a fate worse than death.

As a player I know it's rare. But it's good to be prepared.

IE- you don't want to eb one shotted wth a 1d6 roll.

I know some may say "oh, as a GM, you put in monsters that one shotted your PCs/ How could you?"

But that is the danger of a dump stat. Stat damage is a thing, and it pretty much always debilitates you, no matter the stat. Removing that risk means dumping cha would be the same as free points in the point buy for, lets say a fighter that doesn't intimidate or feint.

Would you complain if I sent will saves after a fighter that both dumped wis, and also DIDN'T take armed bravery from AWT?
