Is it metagaming to make a character that read about the zygomind in a book and is now a paranoid schizophrenic who refuses to sleep whenever he can help it?

That sounds hilarious. He probably wouldn't know all the details about it, so you could have him blame anything you want on the Space Mushrooms. It could even be like his own personal Illuminati (that is if that wasn't already a thing).
