There is a point after which a PDF needs to be repersonalized. I don't know exactly how long that window is, however. (According to Captain Yesterday, it's at least "overnight.")

I clicked on Personalize a few hours ago and then walked away from the computer. When I logged back into My Downloads, it looked just like it did before I clicked "Personalize" -- only this time, when I clicked on the title of the PDF, it started the downloading process. The personalization had apparently gone through in the meantime.

Thanks for the info, I'll try leaving it overnight and see what happens :)

I hear they like small batch bourbon.

Liquor stores won't verify IDs over the phone :(

Hmmm...

Personalizing seems to work now.

But now I'm getting "Firefox can't find the server at remote3.paizo.com." when I try to download the personalized file.

I've downloaded quite a few files from Paizo over the years; never saw this before.

Silver Crusade System Administrator

Well that's a challenge we can at least look into. Have you tried a different browser? Your isp might have it cached. I know I couldn't get to it for a few hours on my phone.

I'm having the same isue Chaderick is having. I tried using Internet Explorer to log on and try; however, I cannot get the Log-In page to load with IE. The main Paizo page loads fine, but when I click on the Sign In link I get the "Cannot display this page."

Pah, bourbon. Single malt Scotch from Islay is where the life is at.

In Chrome does it just send a file to 'Downloads' like a normal download once it starts?

Silly question probably but that's what I'm using to determine if it works, keeping an eye on if the little number pops up :p

Got the same thing on Chrome, but after hitting back to re-attempt several times and then giving up to come post here... the download launched. Downloading in the Chrome footer as I type.

Feh. I must be a filthy 'Murican because I much prefer bourbon over Scotch.

Ok I am seeing that smaller files can be downloaded now (except for one I tried yesterday) these would be the Season 6 and the one from Season 7, but all the larger files are still stuck.

Smirnoff Ice for me.

It will, but not until you click on the title again. It usually takes two clicks for the process (under normal conditions), one for the personalization and one for the download. After it personalizes (if and when it does), you still need to click on the link again for the download process to commence.

Question, is it possible to attempt to personalize multiple files at once? or would that mess things up? I don't mind waiting I just think that if I had a butch going and only a few go threw that would still be faster than trying one at a time.

That's how much I love you guys. I would use Internet Explorer for you.

...but, that seems to be giving me trouble, too.

I can personalize, but I can go no farther.

The error reads:

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at remote3.paizo.com.

Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

That's ok Liz, you're allowed to be wrong. It means more scotchy-scotch for me!

Well I am a filthy 'Murican also, but I prefer Scotch over Bourbon.....

ps. Scotch is an acquired taste. My wife doesn't care for it, neither does my daughter or daughter-in-law, but both my son and son-in-law like it. In fact, when my now son-in-law came to ask for my daughters hand in marriage he brought an 18 year old bottle of McCallum as bribery.... heh....

Hi Chris,

Just as heads-up your remote3 server has become unaddressable, so fails for downloads once the personalization is complete.

Sorry.

They must have done something to fix things, I've been able to download several of my books! Well done, Paizo!

Just tried again...still won't go past "personalizing...". going on a full 24 hours now that I've been unable to download anything, including the Hell's Vengeance Player's Guide :(

Liberty's Edge

I'm also getting the situation where personalization looks like it's gone through, I get to the "your file should start downloading in five seconds" page, but then it takes me to dns not found. Chrome says DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

The failure to connect to remote3.paizo.com is happening both on IE on my work network and Chrome on my home network.

Additional update: It seems to maybe be correcting itself?

Or maybe you all are working incredible magic in the background, still?

I just got one to download.

I'll check back after my daughter goes to bed for the night, in a few hours, and see how things are looking then.

THANK YOU, for a great Bundle for a great cause, and doing a great job handling an unforeseeable obstacle!!!

I have verified the download issue with three different browsers: FireFox, IE, and Chrome.

I can Sign In with FireFox and Chrome, get into the Downloads page, click on the download link, but then get the Unable to be located error.

With IE, I cannot even get logged in. It gives me errors immediately after clicking on the Sign In link.

The good news, I finally got my two Downloads Personalized!!!

ONLY if three parts bourbon, two parts lemon juice, one part syrup and an egg white, shake and serve over rocks.

Yeah, I found a problem that may take a little while to move around. DNS problem that should fix itself once dns propogates. Save those links, they'll be good for a little while.

I must be a downright heathen, because I don't like whiskey in any form... I'm a beer guy, especially the dark variety (not that hoppy craft nonsense that's popular these days). If I do drink a liquor, it's typically rum.

Silver Crusade System Administrator

Happy to do it! ^_^

Another suggestion (since I have been able to start and download and noticed that the available bandwidth is also being crushed): you might want to block access to an account's download page (thereby blocking further personalization/downloads) while that account is in the process of downloading a file. Which should limit downloads to one file at-a-time per account. But only if you're confident you can definitely determine that an account is currently downloading a file and only if all downloads are using the same "pipe".

With something like that in place everyone should have a better chance to get the file they'd like to look at right now pretty quickly and then they can come back later for others.

I like beers, especially scotch ales and milk stouts and the occasional sweet lager, but they tend to leave me with a bit of a headache. Rum... rum and I are no longer friends. We've parted ways a few times and well it was never pretty. Bourbon, Gin, and the occasional tequila if it's a really nice one. =)

(side note) i just got an email that my box is shipping out already. im actually really impressed with how fast ya'll are handling things considering the amount of orders you received. <3

Oh crap! I forgot I had a fifth of a bottle Wellers Antique 107 that I brought in... *gives it the side eye* I should probably eat something before I tuck into some whiskey.

No, it's something that happens in the infrastructure of the internet. Basically give it 15 minutes or so and you should be good.

Lissa, I think you and I just became friends... Scotch ales are my favorite. Thus far the best scotch ale I've ever had thankfully comes from Three Floyds (a local brewery that has gained a lot of notice over the past few years). Robert the Bruce is the name and if you ever find it out there in Cali-land, you should snatch it up straight away. Sooooo good.

Good to know. Local is usually best for a nice scotch ale. ^_^ We have Black Raven and their Scotch Ale puts a smile on my fave every time. It helps that the fancy schmancy burger joint on the corner has it on tap.

Not working for me yet but I'm going to stay up til I can download them all else I wont be able to sleep lol

Might also help to completely close your browser. They sometimes cache dns entries so they don't have to go looking for them later. Especially browsers that have speed as a selling point.

I'm super keen to download my new goodies, but more excited to download the Hell's Vengeance Player's Guide.

If I can't right now, because Paizo did something awesome for kid's charities, or because Paizo have implemented some fixes that may not be working I'm totally going to....

be patient, and understand the relativity of entitlement. And come back later.

You big suxxors Paizo!!!! How dare you be considerate and helpful. ;)
