Racial bonuses to a companion's / familiar's fixed stats?

Halfling has one, humans, and I think a few others, a racial based bonus to their companion/familiar's stats. Example (Halfling, inner sea races):

"Humans often entrust halfling families with the care of children and animals, a task that has helped them develop keen insight. Such halflings gain a +2 racial bonus on Sense Motive checks. In addition, when they acquire an animal companion, bonded mount, cohort, or familiar, that creature gains a +2 bonus to one ability score of the character’s choice. This racial trait replaces halfling luck, sure-footed, and weapon familiarity."

If I used this to increase a Familiar's intelligence, how does that play in with the familiar's fixed intelligence score?

There's a few others scattered in the books, but the above clearly applies to familiars, yet I'm unclear if the familiar class fixed intelligence actually overrides the intelligence bonus.

And more specifically, the Sage Familiar archetype's Dazzling Intellect.

Good question. I would imagine the Familiar would simply have an Intelligence that was 2 higher than the chart, but that's just my impulsive answer.

I'll flag your question for the Rules Forum so that it may best get the attention it deserves =).
