Swashbuckler question: Parry & Reposte vs an AoO? How does this work?

Rules Questions

The swashbuckler has been dropped prone by a wolf.
He wants to stand up and says he's using a panache point to activate parry & reposte against the attack of opportunity as he is standing up.

Thus far i have only seen this in action against an enemy's attack on their own turn, not yet as an assumed safety measure against an attack of opportunity.

How does this resolve?

Sovereign Court

As normal?

Got tripped.
Tries to stand, provoking AoO.
Parry/Riposte first with the appropriate penalties (-4 for being prone)
Move along...

LIFO: last in first out

Swashy stands up
Wolf makes aoo
Swashy paries and ripostes.

Becomes

Swashy parries to set hi new armor class

and riposte is resolved (which could kill the wolf, ending it right there) and The wolf makes his attack . If swashy wins he stabs.

Swashbuckler regains his feet.
