Way of the not so Wicked

Recruitment

Tossing around an idea. I'd like to run a campaign in Talingarde where the PCs are noble heroes foiling the plans of Cardinal Thorne. If there's some interest, I'll start taking character applications. Would more than likely run this on roll20.

Experience with the Way of the Wicked campaign preferred!

Sounds like a laugh. I'd suggest building off the existing campaign as much as possible; creating a whole new one is a lot of work.

While I have no experience with Way of the Wicked I'd still be interested; I reckon having at least one person inexperienced with the path would be good for the party, keeping a fresh perspective and acting as an extra logic-check on things.

when would you be looking to run? I have lots of playing experience on roll 20 and have escaped the prison 6 times, but never got past book 2 of WoTW.

Book two is right up to about what I'd like players to experience.

I want to start the PCs in Aldencross, right before Thornes forces finish sabotaging Tower Balentyne. My schedule is pretty open, as long as it's not on Saturday (I have a morning and evening group I run at my house for friends then). So if I can get enough interest for this it'll just be based off the collective convenience of those who want to play. I'm hoping to get together a party of 4 or 5.

I'd be interested. I have a fairly flexible schedule, though my wotw knowledgable is limited.

Count me interested. I haven't seen much of Way of the Wicked, but I always enjoy flipping AP themes on their heads, and I think I have an idea of what I want to play.

This actually sounds like a good chance to play some characters who are less than heroic, but could be heroes if given the chance, seeing as you start in a prison. (Which is about all I know of the AP)

I'd love to play but I'm not sure i could do Rolld20 since I have both ongoing games and a demanding job.

WoW is something I'd like to get into but I've had trouble conceptualizing an evil character so this sounds like something I would love to get into (particularly if I can get a N vampire out of it! :D )

Same as Nikolaus I have a demanding job and work, I also live in a really noisy house so mic work would be a nightmare. Pity too because this sounds so cool.

Doing it as Good characters needs tweaking but is doable, just make everythign conquered by eil and the PCs must break out of prison and get the rebel army through Balentyne, etc.

I have a couple friends two for sure that would play. We just need to lock down a time. Currently Wednesday nights would be best. We are EST. I get off work at 4:30 one of the guys work until 6 so a 6:30 start and go until 11ish would be good if that is good for you. We have all played together for years but the one guy doesn't always get to play as he GM's a lot. Shoot me a PM if this seems like it will work. Currently we have a Sunday and Monday game. Tuesdays is craft night at my house and every other thursday is SCA business meeting. Friday and Saturday our time with the Wife and doing crap around the house.

I think I could manage a play by forum, but I'd definitely need a little help from my players on post-formatting and how it's normally done (as in, how to note speaking out of character, descriptions of actions vs actual dialogue, etc...).

I've been GMing since 2nd Ed. D&D, and this would be my first game without a grid (or hex) map, so it's definitely something I'd love to try.

Unfortunately, Kiirok and Nikolaus, this campaign more focuses on characters who are good to begin with. The events of the AP won't be in order (for instance, you won't be starting at the prison, but you will go there inevitably. Character creation will be somewhat vanilla, as Talingarde is kind of a predominantly good human society. To make up for this, I'm considering going gestalt.

OOC - Out of Character can be done with (Text)
Thoughts use the [i][ /i] without the space before the / to denote thought and often uses 'text' format
Dialog is done with "Text" like a book does it.
Action is done without any of the previously stated modifiers for what is dialog or thoughts.

Gestalt is my favorite playstyle as i feel it lets people get more fleshed out abilities and characters. A favored of mine is Paladin/Bard which is good here. Been favoring a Unchained Monk/Sorcerer lately though which could still work with the Lawful Alignment.

Been playing by post for most of my 12 years of RP experience tabletop for only the last 3 or 4 so I have a good mix of experience if you need advice.

I feel play by post takes longer but gets more detailed and makes the story feel more fleshed out. Over skype or at a table you need to rush to fit the adventure into a set number of hours. This is more relaxed and can let the players really explore their characters. And bonus gives the DM insight into character's thoughts and the like.
