Building a Horizon Walker

Advice

Assuming no access to a wand of Instant Enemy, how would you build a Horizon Walker up to level 10?

Even before anyone can suggest any advice a little more information is required. The only advice is there isn't a need to take this Prestige Class all the way to tenth level. Most Prestige Classes are like this. Few returns for loss of the prime Classes abilities.
People will give you advice but they and I need to know a bit of your prime class, like what is it the campaign the rest of the party and why you want to be a Horizon Walker?

There are so many possibilities that giving specific advice would take a treatise, so in general:

Using 20 point build, just the CRB and APG books, human, I would go with the following:

Str 17 (15+2), Dex 14, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 13, cHa 10

Using Treantmonk Ranger Guide go for the switch hitter type of Ranger till level six, which you need to qualify for Horizon Walker, then take HW till you are Ranger 6 / HW 10, then back to Ranger.

At Ranger 4, do not take an animal companion, but take the other Hunter Bond option (companions).

As far as terrains, talk with the DM and ask him what would be the best options.

If you're not limited to CRB, I would go half orc instead and take Shaman's Apprentice for Endurance.

I'd want to go Paladin(Holy Tactician, Holy Guide) or Holy Guide/Oath of Vengeance. But paladin can be rough on attributes. IMHO the Dimension Door abilities is the coolest part of Horizon Walker, so you want at least a positive Wisdom bonus. Maybe swap Dex and Cha in the stat array above?

Slayer 7/Horizon Walker 3.

Swift action study target, and grabbing D. Door SLA asap. Start taking D. Agility feats.
