Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of me spraining my ankle got me thinking about how nuts the last 14 months have been:

1. Injured my back so bad I had to go to the Chiropractor for the first time in 15 years in October 2016. Due mainly to the move, for the 4th year in a row, to a new rental house.
2. Just as I am feeling better I sprained my ankle December 26, 2016, spending my entire vacation in bed off my feet.
3. Got the flu, nasty one too in February 2017 and Tonsillitis in September 2017, forcing me to use vacation days instead of sick days killing my Christmas vacation this year.
4. Bankrupt in 2017.
5. Divorce proceedings begin in 2017.

Here's hoping 2018 is a lot f###ing better than all that (well after the Divorce is finalized anyhow)...

Wow. That is a lot to go through. I certainly hope 2018 is much better for you.

Thanks, at least I have the boards to help take me away, I suppose I could have Calgon take me away but I'm not a fan of baths :-)

A friend of mine played a Paladin way back and named his horse Calgon. At the end of every adventure with "Calgon! Take me awaaay!"

My mother called me a few minutes ago. She passed out in the living room, again. I'm beginning to worry that her problems might not be related to Diabetes, but may be neurological.

Agreed. I would certainly have her see a Dr to discuss what the issue may be!

Yeah she should definitely see her GP.

Also it's BLOODY cold tonight!

Sorry to hear that. I agree with everyone that she should visit a doctor.

She still thinks it's related to her insulin doses. Now, I'm not so sure. I think that maybe she needs to be screened for neurological conditions, like Epilepsy. I hope I'm wrong.

She should definitely see her doctor. Now.

Yeah I'm with Cal, she need to see SOMEONE that won't laugh at her when she falls down or whatever. She needs to have serious treatments done.

I'll see if I can talk her into it. You know how stubborn parents can get.

Yep. It's a trait many wonder when our parents have us as kids and then when we're adults, we wonder where they get it from...

In her later years my mom would go to the doctor and be checked into the hospital and THEN call me and sister to tell us. Of course we'd both panic and scold her, but it usually wasn't anything too serious, but worth having tests done. She was a life long smoker and she began to have respiratory problems, and she knew that if she got to where she couldn't breathe well they would drain the fluid off her lungs and she'd be good for a few months.

There is a pretty pattern of black and blue around it.

I can walk without too much discomfort (unless I try to go too fast) but if I do anything that puts pressure on it, it likes to remind me it’s there.

My mom gets to make cookies for me at Christmas since she won't eat them all.

Big eater. A voracious aberration. Any similarities to certain known monster are... Well, indirect.

I get my migraines from myself.

Oh my god, there was a shooting a block north of where I was exiting the highway on the way home this morning right when I was doing so. Several sheriff's deputies have been shot, and at least one is dead. I stopped in Starbucks a few blocks south and had to wait while an ambulance zipped by, lights on but no sirens.

I have talked to some of the county sheriff's guys while on those lonely mountain roads at night, when they were working accidents or checking on the safety of life and property. They were always awesome to me. They go out in the worst weather in dangerous conditions on scary roads to help folks, and some asshat got in a fight with his wife and decided to gun a few down. G@@$$%n it.

jesus. That is monstrous. Im sorry.

Was this in Colorado? I saw something in my newsfeed about a major shooting there.

Yeah, it's a few minutes from where I live in Douglas County, CO. There's nothing like a domestic incident to get LEO's killed. I've liked the DC Sheriff's guys I've talked to; cool and collected, seemed like real pros.

What a tragedy.

I'm sorry to hear that, Treppa. Our LEOs don't deserve that.

O_o I Googled this because I couldn't believe it. It's up to over 5'. Which is taller than me.

Holy Crap 65.1!

Erie, Pennsylvania, Smashes State Snowfall Record With More Than 65 Inches of Snow Since Christmas Eve

hi Patrick,

Belated Happy New Years to all!

I am now back in town, and should (knocks on wood) be back to semi-regular posting as early as tomorrow! Woo!

I had a nice, if short visit with family in Oklahoma. (weird school break schedule this year, I think it has to do with the Holiday falling on the Monday?) Although,...

I drove up on Wed, on Thursday morning, my mom woke me up early, (she usually lets us all sleep in after the drive day) asking for my help with water in the garage.
Yeah,... short version, due to recent 'improvements' by the cities, any water that goes to your house is no longer capable of returning to the city source, to protect everyone else from any contamination. But unless you are informed of this, and add an expansion tank to your water heater, your water heater is now a time bomb.
Yes, my mothers water heater exploded. I spent the day shivering in the cold, helping the plumber replace the water heater. Not what I had planned for my 'vacation', but Im glad I was there to help my mom and aunt. ;P

My son says that Oklahoma was WAY too cold to NOT have any snow to show for it. He was very irate. He got a bike from Grandma for Christmas, and it was TOO COLD to ride the silly thing. He says this is wrong, and that we must fix it immediately. ;P

Heh,... Happy New Year! ;)

Ok,...

I just found out that I was asked to accept a Part in a Musical, Tuck Everlasting. (one of my daughters faves) My daughter got a part in it, and it would be fun to do the show,... I would be 'Constable Joe', comedy relief, funny song, I can do that! :)

Yeah, NOW to check my crazy calendar and see if I can actually DO the show. :/

Happy Frozen New Year! ;P

Hi aeglos, I did! And thanks Treppa!

Well, the New Year has started off rather busy. I am trying to get a lot of things finished up , and boy it’s hard to get a chance to get on the boards. I’m hoping I can revitalize myself soon and get set up.
