I saw on FB! Sweet!

The power of social media. A chance encounter on a mutual friend’s page. I wouldn’t have met her in a million years without FB. Say what you will, the power of positive people connectivity is a wonderful thing.

Lol. I live in the moment

I am not defined by the bitterness of past heartbreak
I am not paralyzed by fears of the future
I exist, content in this moment, and I revel in the happiness that suffuses it.

Congrats on the girly friend, Monkey.

I'm probably going to spend most of the weekend reorganizing and cataloging my Pathfinder/Starfinder stuff.

That ain't bitterness or fear, my friend, that's wisdom!

However, I should not map my talent for making spectacularly poor decisions onto another's life. Congrats! Enjoy!

Spoiler:

I always have made spectacularly bad love decisions

Still, I cannot not judge the future from the sins of the past

Maybe this time I’ll be lucky. If not, then I’m no worse off than before

My talent for spectacularly poor decisions is not restricted to love. ;)

worcester.

It has been a poor trip.

We started off on amtrak, which was fine. One transfer. A nice smooth, picturesque train ride.

Then they said the train was going out of service in Connecticut, and they would be putting us on a bus to the transfer point for the next train.

Then at that transfer point, they said the train to Worcester was 5 hours late because it "left Boston late". The lady suggested i get a ticket for peter pan and they would refund me my money for the transfer point to Worcester. I still had to pay for my bus ticket. I am out a total of 20 dollars for this, which isn't so bad financially, but still.

They gave me my refund, wondering why I was so upset at my train being delayed FIVE. F@%%ING. HOURS.

The people behind the window had to be prompted to return my tickets after the refund went through. That was the final straw. I'm pretty sure they muttered something about angry/rude new yorkers when I walked away.

They are pretty f$&*ing lucky I was being f*~$ing professional, otherwise i would have shown them what f!%&ing Brooklyn f@##ing anger was f*%~ing like.

The one time I rode Amtrak was from St. Louis to Little Rock. The train was 5 hours late leaving Chicago for StL. And the train station was pretty damned sketchy by the time 2 am rolled around and the train arrived.

Ugh. I feel for you

Two weeks in Woos-tah
And your brain starts bleeding
It’s New York City minus size and charm
You’ll find a lot
Of boarded up old mill sites
And if you linger
You may come to harm

It’s just like Detroit crossed with a crappy farm.

Bonus points if you can name the song I’m spoofing

Woos -Tah has a reputation for shootings. There’s actually some fairly active gang activity out in those old mill cities.

As a counterpoint to that, I went with a friend once to Oxford, MS for a weekend. This was in 1987, and the only article in the police section of the newspaper was a story about getting a goat from where it was stuck in a culvert.

And as an aside, I got a sunburn so bad there parts of my back were considered to be as bad as first degree burns by my family doctor. Fun weekend.

Whelp, spent the weekend TRYING to clean a little, (decorated for Christmas right after thanksgiving, otherwise I'll never have time to do it)

TODAY is attempt #3 on getting away from COX cable!

ATT blew the first 2 attempts, literally and completely.

Switching to LUS Fiber. Third time's the charm!?!
(KNocks on his own wooden head) ;P

Oh yeah, and it's finals week at the university, and my wife has been killing herself trying to study for her ONE class all week! (She is adding more certifications to her teaching certification) And that final is tonight. :(

I should do something nice for her so she feels good when she gets home late tonight.
<Pulls out whats left of hair trying to think of something nice that doesn't involve food, since she can't eat late at night> ;P

HAppy week to all!

Take her to a movie that she would like to see, or rent one.

I can never decorate right after Thanksgiving mostly because I'm too damn tired to do that way. I prefer the whole "Do it in spurts" and I tend to get it done on time. Sort of. Mostly.

Also I bought my mom and myself two tickets to see a local production (I think it's local since the University is hosting it) of A Christmas Carol on the 15th of December.

Where are you staying in Worcester? I am guessing since you took the train that you have lack of transport? You are there for 2 weeks? I have a buddy who is a gamer who lives there, I can ask him for good gaming spots there and places to go and places to avoid if you want? Me I live in Brockton we get a worse rap there than Worcester and there are great places to live in the area so I am guessing there have got to be some good spots there too.

I’ll say this for Brockton. Good restaurants
