So,....
When in Germany, treat the natives like I do my Clients that Tick Me Off, and I'll fit in just fine?

;P

Ok, so I'll try to be less polite, but that's very hard for me.

So.... bus trip done. Six hours in the books. I'll be taking my baloney-skin tires down the road to WHOI in a bit.

We are due for 12-18" inches of snow tomorrow... sigh

Yes, FHDM, you love snow. We get it.

I FNCKING HATE IT
HATE IT
HATE IT

It just had to snow right before I got my new tires because FNCK YOU MONKEY!
Hopefully I can make it to work tomorrow. Here's hoping.

I do love snow, yes.

Why we aren't getting similar accumulations is incredibly frustrating.

The snow we got last night was great. Beautiful to see but not interfering in daily life.

Now it's 18-24" projected ... F. M. L.

Ah well, no sense dwelling on issues and complications.

What will be will be

I just finished watching The Expanse season 1 on Amazon Prime. It is an awesome series and I can't wait for season 2 to come out.

Damn. Be safe Monkey Man.

Anyone wants to buy a kidney?

No, no, no! Don't sell a kidney. You'll need both to deal with all the Vodka you'll be drinking. Seriously, though. I knew someone from Poland. He was a Sociology graduate from Pitt University. Then he took a job teaching English in South Korea. So, if anyone meets a Korean speaking English with a heavy Polish accent, you'll know that Piotr was his instructor.
OK, now THIS just screams awesome! :)

And entirely true. Piotr worked in the Video section of Tekkoshokon and was the GM for an Earthdawn campaign, in which I played.

I should go to shop and buy some food, handkerchiefs, and sugar.

Hmm. Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred in the new Gotham TV show is in this movie. Boy it's been a loong while...20 years? dang....

The CGI looks hella whack...

That same system will be passing just to the southwest of here. We should only get a light dusting...enough to make everything beautiful and nothing more.

:D

Awesome movie! And I nearly watched it myself last night. It was down to that or John Carpenter's The Thing. Kurt Russell won out.

Well, let's see. F = 9/5 C + 32. F = 9 / 5 * -10 + 32. F = -90 / 5 + 32. F = -18 + 32 = 32 - 18 = 14.

Yeah, that's right. Damn, but how I love Math. My best subject in High School.

Don't worry, if we're following the Babylon 5 timeline, we've still got a couple years before we get our moon colony. And we've got another 50 years if we're following the Mass Effect timeline.

Of course, in the Babylon 5 timeline, at some point terrorists will nuke San Jose. So... maybe stay on the east coast.

Currently going through the requisite "turning off all the bells and whistles so everything actually runs smoothly" step with the new computer. Ran across this warning message: "Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Are you sure you want to disable this device?" I think Microsoft thinks I'm stupid.

Eddie Izzard had it right.

I just found an interesting video that put voice to some gripes I have with the newer Elder Scrolls games from a concept/design standpoint. I get that Bethesda was trying to give the world more of a grounded and realistic look, but it's possible to do that without making everything either gray or brown.

Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is a fun game (not as good as Morrowind, though, and don't get me started on the motion-sickness-inducing Oblivion), but given that the in-universe world is literally made of magic, I think they could have gotten away with more than they did, ridiculous canoe-paddle-like swords aside.

I love this scene

Well, woke up to the first foot on the ground.

*sigh*

I have a feeling I'm not going to make it to work today. And that is not good, considering I am classed as emergency personnel.

Got about 3-4 here. Looks like it will stay for a bit as it wont warm up tomorrow.

Well, about 12" on the ground now. The high winds are kicking up, and it shows no sign of letting up. I haven't heard a single plow go by, even on the main road. So I'm thinking I'm pretty much fncked. I just spent about two hours just doing a pre shovel in the hopes that it might slow down. At least that first foot is cleared from my driveway area and on part of the extended driveway

Taking into account all my IT-working friends's stories about random people dealings with computers (both hard- and software), I must say in M$'s defense, that they probably have a long history of complaints from genuinely stupid customers so they want to be on a safe(er) side.

It's still annoying, though.

Well, guess I'm important enough to send a truck for.

We FINALLY got some snow accumulation here! And it's slippery, I had to use all my skill to keep from skidding to the ground when I went on my walk.

You guys.

I went over to my mom's house because there was a box she said that came from Paizo.

I didn't remember ordering anything from Paizo, so I didn't pay it any special attention, other than to note that this seemed to be an unsually large box for the usual end of year "thanks for buying stuff" thing they normally send. I noted there was a label on it that had been half torn off, so I didn't realize it was the box from Paizo until not too long ago when I had tons of stuff in my living room I was going through to clean up a bit.

Someone, probably the person who got me all the wonderful PDFs, also got me THE FREAKING COMBAT TIER FAMILY PACK

I AM FREAKING OUT

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED THIS

I NEED TO BUY A NEW MY LITTLE PONY/HELLO KITTY LUNCHBOX TO STORE THESE AND TRANSPORT THEM TO GAME

No snow down south here in Lousy-anna, just a couple of nights where it got freakin cold (for down here. It did drop below freezing.) ;)

So, actually got to light my fireplace! What a concept for Lousy-anna! And we did SMores! My kids love me again. :) AT least for this weekend. Tomorrow they go back to school. We'll see how long the love lasts. ;P

Glad your safe Monkey-Man! Stay warm!

It was in the 40s yesterday in Orlando. Perfect for wearing my Ravenclaw scarf around Harry Potter World.

Yes!

When we went for Thanksgiving, 2015, I was actually jealous of all the kids wearing those nice, expensive, heavy-duty Harry Potter robes! ;P

They might have been too warm for the day(? Maybe?) but they would have been perfect once the sun went down! :)

I just can't justfiy $110 for two layers of solid-color fabric and a sewn-on badge. Or $50 for a plastic wand.

Silver Crusade

Well - I came close to justifying it. I just didn't pull the trigger on it, so I tell myself that now.

But did you know that when the temperature drops, they serve hot butter beers?

It is amazing. Even better than the regular cold ones.
