Sorcerer + Witch multiclassing questions

Hello everybody. A friend of mine has a 5th level gnome witch with the pyromaniac racial trait and is considering the idea of multiclassing as a sorcerer, taking the elemental (fire) bloodline.

Here are 2 rule questions we cannot find an answer to:

1) Would the sorcerer bloodline arcana ("whenever you cast a spell that deals energy damage, you can change the type of damage to match the type of your bloodline. This also changes the spell's type to match the type of your bloodline") apply to his witch spells? In other terms, could he change his lightning bolt, taken from the witch spell list, to deal fire damage?

2) Would he be able to use the spontaneous spellcasting sorcerer ability for his witch spells? Or does he manage the two spellcasting abilities in two separate ways, by memorizing witch spells as usual and spontaneously casting only sorcerer spells?

1) It's somewhat controversial, but yes, bloodline arcana apply to all of your spells, even those from other classes. Dipping into sorcerer is common for wizards focused on blasting spells.

2) The two are managed separately, just as you describe. If his character had the ley line guardian witch archetype, on the other hand, the witch side would cast spontaneously as well. The two would still use separate spell lists/spells per day/spells known/etc., though.

Not controversial at all because it's in the FAQ for the core rulebook since 2010?

I didn't mean that there was controversy over whether it worked. I meant that there was controversy over whether it should work that way.
