Dungeon Master S |
Yeah I knew we'd run into this again, I seem to recall not having any common ground. Check out the campaign tab. Any other thoughts? (As a reminder this module is 3 XP.)
Shump fighter |
I thought it might be cool do to Shadows of Gallowspire 13-15 (Carrion Crown) with this PC.
I've done the PFS parts of:
Fortress of the Stone Giants (Rise of the Runelords)
Sins of the Saviors (Rise of the Runelords)
Into the Nightmare Rift (Shattered Star)
Beyond the Doomsday Door (Shattered Star)
Tome of the Iron Medusa (Module)
Dungeon Master S |
Rise of the Runelords and Shattered Star are out for me also as I've either done them or promised them.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
Sorry for the delay. I saw this yesterday, but I was not able to post until now.
DM Beckett // Ignatious // 5274-18 // Silver Crusade
Day Job: Take 10 Heal = 35 (100GP)
As for what's next, are the following a possibility?
First Taste of Eternity
All the Gods Beyond
Serpents Fall
All three are open for play for Levels 12-15, and are designed also to work with the Eyes of the Ten series, but not dependent on it.
Dungeon Master S |
It's certainly a possibility... Anyone else have a thought?
Hugo Victor |
All are open to me since this is my first retired character. Whatever you all decide, count me in. :)
Dungeon Master S |
Sounds like everyone is good for the "All for Immortality" trilogy. Works for me. Part I comes out a week from today, which is perfect timing.
Dungeon Master S |
School is out next week. I'll be around (no exaggeration, the stack of papers I have to correct is more than 2,000 pages long.) I might not be quite as fast as normal, but I'll be here. As always, if I'm the player and I'm taking too long, either message me somehow or bot me.
Hugo Victor |
Hey cool. I did not know the discussion thread could be shared.
Hugo is leveled up to 14th.
Purchases: Ebon Wayfinder(18k), +2 Str Belt upgrade (6k), Figurine Griffin
Question: Since this is a new "retirement" arc is there any benefit to playing characters (like Hugo) already having gone through Eyes of the Ten arc? I have no problem continuing with Hugo and this group, I was just curious.
Unless it would it be better to save for one of my other retired/soon-retired characters? I may have to save GM stars to replay this one later.
Dungeon Master S |
Not having seen what comes at the end of part 3, I don't know.
That being said, I have seen on the boards that you should feel free to play this with either an Eyes of the Ten veteran OR someone who retired a different way. So, no, you should be fine.
Hugo Victor |
Perfect, thanks. Ready to roll.
Hugo picked up a Ring of Summoning Affinity (Inevitable) a while back - with the intent of finally getting to use the 7th level summons for zelekhut. I was never crazy about the summons available to non-good (or really non-evil) summoners.
Dungeon Master S |
So Endless Forms is currently recruiting for the very same trilogy. As it stands, we have 5, and he only has 3 signed up. I haven't talked to him yet, but if he doesn't get a 4th, the table won't fire.
I'm not sure how long he will have recruitment open... Maybe someone can volunteer for that table? Not forcing anyone, just thinking out loud.
Hugo Victor |
I thought about that too, GM.
I suspect he will get a few more by tomorrow since he has only had it posted for like a day. If he does not, I will be happy to switch to help his table (although really liked our group dynamic too).

I do not know the details, but, I believe it was from the Know Direction Podcast Interview that it was mentioned that there would be a small bonus (which might just be RP or backstory) involved for characters that have completed Eyes of the Ten. It's not required, but it was something that they considered.
I am nearly done updating. 14.2 Cleric as well. So far, I have sold my Ring of the Sublime (errata ruined it), Pearly White Spindle Ioun Stone (too much table variation), & Muleback Cords (the actual spell is slightly better), in order to purchase a Cloak of Protection +4, Ring of Evasion, Deathwatch Eyes (no longer need to worry about "are they truly dead or maybe still alive ha ha).
I also really liked our group dynamic as well, but lets give it a few days and see if it's still needed. I honestly do not imagine it would take too long to fill, but, there is also always the Magus player that couldn't play this Module who might be interested.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
I've also taken a moment to redo some of my spells, working off of Victor's list. Just realized I can now summon a Celestial T-Rex, so looking forward to doing that at some point (just to say I did it).
Dungeon Master S |
Agreed on all accounts, let's not break the band up if we don't have to.
VC Rúmil the Constant |
Hey guys, Endless Forms here! DM S invited me along I invited myself along for the All for Immortality series. This is my -1 character and he hasn't been played in ages. Although he's level 15 (it looks like you guys are 14), I don't consider him terribly overpowered (at least for an archer) because he was my first character and I didn't know what I was doing (hence the crazy multiclassing). I will need to look him over and perhaps update him a bit but I'll take care of that in the next couple days.
PFS #: 55162-1

Dungeon Master S |
I'm in the same boat with my 1824-1. Built in 3.5 and largely leveled out before all the options were there. I dusted him off for a VTT Eyes of the Ten with Thunderspirit's home group.
Welcome aboard! I think the easiest thing to do is wait until EF's recruitment closes. Then if need be we can donate Hugo (he volunteered). Still there's time.
VC Rúmil the Constant |
I was going to wait until Monday for that one. I've got three currently so if Aarvid doesn't mind moving over, we'd have a legal table over there as well. Of course if we get a fourth before then, do whatever you want. Likely your character already has some rapport with this group.
VC Rúmil the Constant |
It looks like I have had a couple more sign-ups so Aarvid can stay here if he wishes. Looking forward to the game, thanks for having me!
Hugo Victor |
Excellent. Looks like a pretty good table there too. We should be good here with 6. Does this scenario have a 12-13 and 14-15 tier or all the same?
Dungeon Master S |
12-13 and 14-15
We're playing 14-15
Shump fighter |
Hate to do this but I'm going to bow out for All for Immortality. I want to run the Sun Orchid in a week or so as my first attempt at PbP GMing and I want to get the maps already. Thanks again for this module it was a great time!
Shump aka Qstor
Dungeon Master S |
No problem! I'll PM you after we're done. Don't be afraid to ask for anything to help out, and good luck!
Hugo Victor |
Good luck Qstor - was fun having Shump aboard. See you next time. :)
Dungeon Master S |
HA!
Once Roakar checks in I'll shut down The Academy of Secrets thread.
Roakar |
Ok, I am here. I was out of town for the weekend and 21 posts later....
I am going to lvl up / purchase stuff after work today. I should be ready to go tomorrow. Will post again this evening.
Dungeon Master S |
Rock on!
I'll make the first in character post, but don't feel the pressure to rush.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
Sorry to see you go Shump. It was nice gaming with you, and it's been a while since I've really had a steady group (in PFS).
Dungeon Master S |
One final decision to make.
This game has HARD MODE.
Hard mode gets you nothing but bragging rights. Rights that I will include on the chronicle. The challenges go up, the rewards DO NOT.
We need to decide before it's time to roll dice.
VC Rúmil the Constant |
I'll catch up in Gameplay sometime this afternoon.
If everyone else is enthusiastic about hard mode, I will go along but it's not my preference.
Roakar |
Played Waking Rune hard mode. It was fun but we had a table of people that all positively wanted to do it and we had a ridiculous amount of resources on hand to prevent player death.
I am for giving it a shot, but I want everyone else on board. It's all or none.
Hugo Victor |
I would probably be more likely if we were a table of six and 3+ were 15th. As we stand, I'd lean towards normal mode.
Ignatious the Seeker of Flame |
I'd be okay with Hard Mode, but do not want to force it on anyone else. Like Roakar said, only if everyone is on board. I've never played or run anything in Hard Mode, so I honestly have no basis for judgment. On the other hand, we have a badass Barbarian, two Clerics, a Bard, and an Archer Wizard. :P
Dungeon Master S |
There doesn't seem to be a strong desire for it, so we'll stick with regular mode.
Roakar |

At this level, Hard mode would probably be a CR bump of 4-5, putting the boss encounter at something like a CR 21+. In Waking Rune for a group of lvl 10/11's, Krune had probably 5-6 lvls on us.
Hard mode is seriously hard. I would expect that at least 1 of us would fail a save and die. Expected tactics would include nasty fun stuff like offensive plane shifting, overly meta magic'd horrid wilting, probably a time stop, at least a couple of wish/limited wish uses.
We are also talking about Thursty as the writer. He can be a little devious in his writing when he wants to be.
Hugo Victor |
Echo all that Roakar said. It really cranks it up and since we are below average level (14.5) for the tier and a person shy of 6, too risky for no reward.
Hugo always carries diamond dust and plane shift just for those types of emergencies.
We can see how this goes and go strong on the next one. I agree with Iggy - this is a near-perfect mix of classes.

VC Rúmil the Constant |
Oh cool, I didn't realize Summon Thurston Hillman was a valid PC spell in PFS. Summon Mike Shel occasionally works too, if you can make the concentration check.
Dungeon Master S |
So given the careers and interests of the people in the game:
I'm taking one of my classes, an elective called "Exploration of molecular biology and biotechnology" to BionX They make extremely awesome prosthetic limbs. They've been working to make the technology available to the masses, but it's incredible for people from soldiers returning after catastrophic injury to patients with existing medical conditions.
The CEO (and double amputee) is going to give the students a demonstration, talk, etc. His company made news a little while back when one of the victims of the Boston Marathon attack lost her leg. As a competitive dancer it was extra hard to bear. She's back to dancing with the limb.
Anyway, I'll be AFK because of that trip tomorrow.
