How to count as a demon?

Advice

I need to count as a demon or half demon for some feats I want to take. Any adivce would be much appreciated. Dont need to be an actual demon or even have the actual subtype as long as I can count as one for feats

What feats in particular?

As in, do they specifically require demon, or can Native Outsider work?

If so, playing a Tiefling is the most obvious answer.

Get an eye patch, a robotic arm, and some shrapnel stuck in your head?

Ok, for actual mechanics... there are rules for turning half demon, and then later demon...but they are insanely specific, and take several years to complete. Plus REALLY evil.

So with the amount of effort, time, and leeway needed, you would have more luck just asking your GM to house rule you as a demon.

Unless there are some other options I don't know about.

The demonic posession feats from demons revisited they require demon or half demon for most of them

....looking at it, is that a feat anyone is actually supposed to take?

It seemed more like a flavorful monster feat. Since it requires you to be a race that is for monsters.

And have rather insanely high stats. 21 CHA, 17 WIS- a bit uncommon, since a lot of people that bother with that much CHA have fantastic will saves anyway, and people with high wis don't have that much cha since it would be unlike that they are cha casters.

I doubt you were ever seriously expected to be able to use this feat. This seems more like a thing for GMs to throw on choice monsters to make them into manipulators.

I realize they are meant for monsters, but I also know pathfinder has lots of secrets and cheese that could possibly allow me to qualify for said feat

yeah, you're not likely gonna find a lot of direct ways to accomplish what you want through a feat or a class ability (or at least any I'm aware of), and most ways that will take a lot of time.

The best way I can think of is to talk to your gm about this. I know I'd be down with eventually letting my characters in some of my games work towards gaining some kind of demon template, or at least be treated as one for feats and effects, if they put the time in and worked towards it.

In all honesty, this is likely the best way to go about it anyway, as finding some obscure secret or cheese way of doing this then springing this on your dm is more likely to annoy him than accomplish anything productive (not that I'm claiming that is what you're doing).

Well, if by obscure secrets or cheese you mean "Just roll a half demon character to start with and eat the LA", then yeah.

Check it.

Its no easy task, but possible.

Most demons or evil entities are capable of grating you demonic boons at the expense of very evil acts.

For example:

Very Vague Rise of the runelord spoiler:
There is a certain AP where a certain villain Has one of her limbs turn demonic, and this was only after she burned down a holy place and also exhumed her father's corpse and sacrificed it to a certain god.

How about the witch archetype that lets you magic-jar into a new body? Pick up a demon body, and now you might well count as a demon.

How about baleful polymorph into one. Fail the first save, make the second. You now have a demon body, and now you might well count as a demon.

How about a demonic graft? Is that enough to count?

1. if you could do that, then the feat seems rather useless to you. We have been talking about a feat that grants soul jar as an SLA. No idea on the rules, but most likely no.

2. EDIT- lovely. I looked at the rules forum about polymorph spells, and you were one of the most active commenters... I highly doubt polymorph spells change your actual type though. Not reading through that thread to dissect the word play though.

3. Nope. Not even an hint of that kind of mechanic, as far as I am aware.

Demonic Possession

Looks like answer #1 (Twin Soul) is better than the feat in the first place. :-)
#2, I think type only changes if you fail save #2, but maybe not even then. If it does, and you then get wished back mentally but not body, then it might work.
#3, with Demonic Implants, you definitely get some of the demon's power, so it could be argued that you count as part demon.

You can argue a lot of stuff. But demonic implants don't explicitly change your type. There is some fluff text, but even in that, the question comes "how many parts until you are a demon"- maybe there just aren't enough parts released to actually accomplish it.

With actual rules, they are just flavorful wondrous items.

But at least we can agree that...even if #1 worked, it would just be redundant with your existing class abilities. Just a waste of resources.

If ou're willing to delve into 3.0 and 3.5 there is one route you could take.

Acolyte of the Skin. 10th level power Fiendish symbiosis. You become and outsider with DR 10/Good.

Then use a ritual from Savage Species that gives you the subtype (If not all of the abilities associated with that subtype) you want.
