Jem,

All I know is we're going to get some clarity (I guess) with Superman's 'reborn' status after this.

We can but hope!

Man I really should have clued into the Superman Red and Superman Blue sooner

Grey,

You too huh? Yeah that was weird at first but now it makes more sense. Though I have re-read that again to figure out if they cloned Lois too.

It at least seems that Nu52 Clark/Lois appear to have been "split" from OG Clark and Lois, and that energy is going to come back to them soon, if those last few panels are any indication.

Jem,

Probably but it's just weird that we're doing the whole "Red Superman/Blue Superman" thing again.

Are they trying to tie it in to the Green Lantern emotional spectrum thing?

Are they saying that Superman is 50/50 Rage/Hope?

Because that doesn't make any sense.

If anything, he's Hope/Courage(will)/Compassion.

Jem,

No idea but if they are, it's a crappy way to do it. I think it's more likely the Red is like solar power and the Blue is...human? Maybe?

I don't think it has to do with the emotion spectrum. Red and Blue has always kind of been the traditional "Superman split in two" thing. Golden Age I think it was a Red Kryptonite thing. During his Electric Phase it just kind of accidentally happened.

There are psychological differences between the two, both are heroes but they tend to prioritize slightly differently.

What Grey said.

Could also be a representation of Krypton/Earth, maybe?

Out of curiousity. Who is going to get the Loony Toons/DC crossover books?

For me I can't resist Yosemity Sam + Jonah Hex or The Martian Manhunter vs. Marvin the Martian

Grey,

Nah I'll pass. I am interested in the new Superman Revenge Squad that's coming up. It looks pretty darn awesome.

That and they're going to tie up the disparate storylines in Wonder Woman.

Black Days might be good. Might be crap. We'll see.

At least NOW I'm getting a better feel for what Rebirth MIGHT look like down a ways.

LoonyToons/DC crossover. Bloodshot Reborn.

WHEN IS THE LEGION COMING BACK???

Charles,

The same time I get Franklin Richards to join the X-men. :P

Say what, now?

Google...huh. I...see.

Damon,

Yeah I'm pretty much ignoring it in favor of Rebirth stuff.

Especially if they fix Wonder Woman...

So!

It appears I was semi-right that Nu-52 Superman was a split from Pre-Flashpoint Superman...some how. Same with Lois apparently.

Who did it? Answer seems to lean either to Ozzy or else the other guy.

In other Rebirth related news, Thawne is free and remembers Pre-Flashpoint now. So...yeah...

We're getting a LITTLE more clarity on WW's origins/stuff in Rebirth.

Plus the fact Kyle Rayner is no longer the White Lantern, PROBABLY thanks to the same guy that isn't Ozzy.

Scarab Sages

Paizo Superscriber

I interpreted it a little differently.
I saw it as Nu-52 and the mainstream DC Superman and Lois merged together, not split at Flashpoint, thanks to Myx's magic.
This in effect has given them a history in the current universe that is out in the open. There is no reason to hide any more.
That may be why Lex Luthor was not surprised by Superboy's appearance in Super Sons.
I wonder how this will play out in Justice League and with Batman?

There are some villains I could not place. Were they part of the Nu-52?

Action 976 Spoiler:
Spread
Who is the villain between the Parasite and Myx?
To the right of Bizarro?
Between the Eradicator and Doomsday?
The 2 between Doomsday and Darkseid?
The 2 to the left of Brainiac?

Also, looks like I was more right then I knew earlier when I was talking about how the Monitor was introduced before Crisis and how Ozzy is being used now.
Looks like Ozzy may be manipulating things in order to oppose the mysterious other.

Charles,

Spoiler:
The first one is a relative new comer, Blanque.

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Blanque_(Prime_Earth)

The second is unknown to me at this time.

The third one between those two is also unknow.

The first one with the mustache I don't know. The second is Imperiex.

The middle one under Doomsy isn't know to me. The second with the blonde hair is Neil Quinn/Ulysses.

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Neil_Quinn_(Prime_Earth)

Well we don't know IF it's the Monitor. I'm still betting on Doc M.

I don't disagree they didn't join but I think that BEFORE Flashpoint/Nu-52 Superman was one guy and so was Lois. Now they are together as both.

How it will play out? No clue! But the ramifications of this are certainly being felt across the line, that's for sure.

Not to mention Lobo and Wile E. Coyote versus the Road Runner.

Man and I thought the recent 'WWE meets the Jetsons' DVD was ridiculous.

EDIT: And apparently we have Wonder Woman fighting the Tasmanian Devil. Best part is the art I've seen makes it look like they're doing Tas as a 'straight' DC character (I.e., very realistic style) rather than as a cartoon one.

*doesn't actually care about DC versus Looney Toons...*

But if I did, it might be Martian Manhunter coming to save us.

Well the Loony Tunes/DC crossover will have Bugs Bunny joining the Legion.

Not sure Charles considers that cannon, Eric.

this I have to read.

Right now, I'll take anything Legion, so long as it is in good taste.

BTW, I loved the Star Trek/Legion crossover a few years ago.

Charles,

That was a good cross over. However I was unware you didn't care if it was or wasn't cannon. Thank you for clarifying.

No idea if the Looney Toons thing will be in good taste though...

Scarab Sages

Paizo Superscriber

So long as the story is good.
Liked the first Star Trek/Green Lantern, but not too thrilled by the current sequel.

Yeah this one is pretty meh in comparsion.

Maybe it's the rebooted version that's not doing it for me...

Interestingly enough, I am not a fan of either version. I find the idea interesting, but it just doesn't seems to take to paper well.

All I know now is no sign of the Legion in comics that are in the 'main' DC Universe or even Multiverse.

Maybe we need to start a letter writing campaign.

Well there is that Girl in Arkham and Emerald Empress is certainly looking for someone. So Something is coming Legion wise, just don't know what or when

Grey,

When is probably 2025 at the rate DC is going...

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2010 Top 16

The Legion of Super-Heroes, being 1000 years down-river time-wise, bears the brunt of every universe-changing special event. (The effects of "crisis on Infinite Earths" was bad enough, with trying to retrofit continuity to write out Superboy, and then retconning him back in...)

That was really the greatest blow during the Bierbaum/Giffen run. In the middle of the "five years later" storyline, back-filling in the five-year gap, and in the middle of the Time Trapper / Glorith reality shift, the replacement of Andromeda instead of Supergirl, and in addition to the chaos of the SW6 batch of time-paradox duplicates (because Spider-man's Clone Saga had gone so well!) the LSH got hit with the ramifications of Zero Hour.

And the DC Universe has been unstable ever since. One it settles down, I'd like to see what sort of Legion it generates. Hopefully one more positive and hopeful than the last incarnation.

Chris,

Well it can't be any more Grimdark than a Zack Snyder movie...

And don't forget, one of the last times we saw the Legion, Brainy stated very clearly that the "Flashpoint Breakwall" was rapidly approaching their time.

So they definitely got affected by Flashpoint and Nu52. Apparently even Doctor Manhattan's reality altering powers take time to percolate.

Doc M's powers I don't think have a strong affect on future timelines. At least...none that I've seen so far, Jem.

Well, by default, they would though, wouldn't they?

By affecting the past and the present (as has clearly been done), the future would by default also be affected - as the future is the sum of the then and the now.

Perhaps I'm thinking too esoterically, but I'd think that the fallout from his meddling would definitely ripple forward.

I loved the last incarnation. I loved the legion of three world's storyline. But I tend to love legion no matter what. Sw6 is "my" legion (made my mom buy me just about every issue, recollecting it on comixology nowadays, would LOVE to get an issue autographed by the bierbaums), and I got into a lot of fights with other fans because of it. I loved the more sci fi take on the legion in later years, and the departure from(and later parody of) the 50s take on the team.

Jem,

Normally yes but it seems that each time the timeline changed, we still get Legion of Superheroes...

Scarab Sages

Paizo Superscriber

Legion was the first Super Hero comic I bought back in the early 70's, and I still have my copy.
Over the years the stories just got better, with a few exceptions.
There were authors who, even though they did well writing other comics, just could not and should not have written Legion (I will not name names).

I loved the Legion / Legionaire era.
I got my traditional and the new younger versions at the same time.
I was sorry to see what happened at Zero Hour, but I did like the younger version reboot afterwards.

I loved Andromeda and the rest that Keith Giffin introduced, although he should have stuck to writing and let others do the artwork.

I could go on and on, but there is too much to say.

I think you've said enough Charles. We'll see if that talking gets us anywhere in post Rebirth.

Raise your hand if your first real hero-team book was LOSH.

The Outsiders for me. Followed by JLI.

X men. Still want rogue to loudly and publicly leave gambit for me.

Freehold,

Wrong thread for super teams that are DC Super teams...

But yes.

Pathfinder Campaign Setting, Companion, Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Teen Titans for me.

It was the issue where Deathstroke dropped a bomb on the team and while everyone else was trying to defuse it before it hit Changeling went after him solo and got killed.

Totally hooked right away and Changeling became my favorite character ever. The story that followed where Donna and the girls took him to Thymescera for healing only to battle the Titans of myth was just awesome.

Grey,

That was a good storyline.

Scarab Sages

What did you think of the new Key, as he appeared in the Titans annual?
I thought he was pretty good. I always hoped they would update him. I liked how he was in Justice League, but hadn't seen him since crisis.

EDIT: Just saw on Wikipedia that he appeared in the Batman titles over the years and his current incarnation is what was in Batman.

Spoiler:
I did NOT like Wonder Woman's paranoia, nor that Donna Troy is now the child made from clay.
