Calculating Touch AC

Rules Questions

My Max Dex from my Armor is +1

My Dex is +3.

I understand that my regular AC should only add 1 from the DEX modifier.

Should my Touch AC add 3? Considering that it is technically "Touch AC" and not "AC"

No, because you're still being encumbered by your armour despite not getting any protection from it.

ya it reads a little muddled if you ask me, but I understand how you can get there. I am not sure why the Max DEx doesn't effect Initiative or Reflex but does effect Touch.

Quote:
Dexterity bonuses in excess of this number are reduced to this number for the purposes of determining the wearer's Armor Class. Heavier armors limit mobility, reducing the wearer's ability to dodge blows. This restriction doesn't affect any other Dexterity-related abilities.

Because of that. "Affects armor class. Doesn't affect other dex abilities"

As for story-reasons, if that's what you mean, can't help you there. Although it's not a huge stretch for initiative in particular, since that is more of a mental thing (it really should be wisdom based in fact not dex, but whatever). Reflex doesn't make much sense to not be affected.

Reflex to me is dodging and getting out of the way of spells. But its all a subjective view point any who.

Touch AC is still AC. It's just AC without certain bonuses.
