Phylactery of Positive Channelling - Extra dice still part of undead Will save?

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

I just wanted to confirm what I suspect to be true. The extra 2D6 of damage that the Phylactery allows for undead is simply added to the rest of the dice and undead can save against all of it (i.e. the extra 2D6 are not auto-damage that isn't subject to a Will save), correct?

Yes. Add all your dice together to get one total amount of damage, then attempt the Will save for half of that total.

I agree. However, it appears that when using Variant Channeling, the +2d6 is added AFTER division. So a 7th level cleric is actually channeling for 4d6 (4d6 / 2 + 2d6)....or 2d6 on a Will Save.
