[PFS] Darkwood legal for non-weapon / armor?

Many of the special materials, particularly metals, have charts that indicate cost based on item type. Darkwood, however, uses the following pricing, which doesn't delineate whether it can be used for non-weapon/armor gear:

To determine the price of a darkwood item, use the original weight but add 10 gp per pound to the price of a masterwork version of that item.

Would it be PFS legal to get a darkwood portable altar, for example? There is no masterwork version of this item, in part because I think it's assumed to just be masterwork for all intents and purposes.

PORTABLE ALTAR
Price 250 gp; Weight 40 lbs.
Portable altars are typically made of wood and are ornately carved and decorated with the religious iconography of a specific religion. The top of the altar lifts up, and items such as candles, incense, and oil can be stored within. These altars are modest, but give traveling priests a center from which to say their daily prayers, perform minor rituals, or preach to an assembled crowd.

Is there an in-game benefit from it being Darkwood? Or is it more a flavor thing?

The portable altar would go from 40 lbs to 20 lbs.

I suspect that the OP wants a more weight-effective method of using a portable consecrate target.

Portable medium "location," but yes. :-)

I have several characters with Darkwood Musical Instruments, since there are Masterwork and non-Masterwork versions of both, but this question gets tricky, since we don't know how much a Masterwork Altar would be priced.

I'd probably say "no", though feel free to add it to the Campaign Clarifications list. Can't hurt to try.

Why do people keep saying there is no masterwork portable altar?

Masterwork Portable Altar, PFS legal even

(Okay, this was a little unfair. I wouldn't have known about this, except that I researched altars somewhat exhaustively trying to find the best one for my Groetus worshiper.

Why do I suddenly have this image in mind of Wolfwood's 'Church' for confessions?

I was simply trusting that the OP had researched if there was one and posted here when nothing came up.

TL;DR: A darkwood portable altar costs 800 gp. ;)

Well, there's a PDF I'll have to get. That's why I didn't know about it!

If you are the cleric, how about just bringing it at the 40lb version and forcing the party's tank to carry it for you in exchange for healing (which you'd probably do anyway....).

Scarab Sages

If I were playing a tank, an extra 40lbs carried weight in exchange for healing priority is a solid deal.

The two hands required to carry it might be a deal breaker, though.

Maybe if they had the Throw Anything feat...

My portable altar is dedicated to our Lord and Master, the Prince of Darkness, Asmodeus, and is used as a focus for casting Desecrate.

The meat shield is of course welcome to some of Asmodeus' blood powered healing. Dont worry, the desire to kill puppies fades quickly.

Why am I suddenly getting this image of warriors walking around in 'Burdenless' 'Space Marine Armor' with shrines on the back for various deities?
