When I was a younger man, around 20 or so, everybody else in my circle of horror hounds was really into Hellraiser, and Doug Bradley's performance as Pinhead.
But for me, the Tall Man of Phantasm was infinitely creepier.
In addition, Angus Scrimm was a class act of a human being, with a genial, kindly demeanor about as far removed from his most famous role as it is possible to imagine.
From his star turn as the antagonist of the Phantasm series to his brief role in John Dies At The End, he was an actor I was always happy to see getting work.
So long, Angus. Thanks for everything.
