Let the explosives FLY!!!!

Advice

So I am looking at ballistas and other siege weapons. It's fun but I'm looking for something with a little more, what do you call it... a little more BOOM! So I'm wondering could you modify a ballista or catapult to fire explosives, such as an alchemists bombs. Or goblin's rockets.

Scroll down. Ultimate Combat introduced firearms so with them came the appropriate siege weapons (bombard, cannon, flamethrowers) as well as special ammunition for them (alchemist's fire, liquid ice, bombs).

Thank you! I did not notice that. *facepalm* no sarcasm intended.

Though anyway to make those explosives fly even farther??

Or even better use the Level 1 Warpriest Rune Blessing to put exploding runes on rocks/boulders you launch?

Can't edit the above but I have another question along with the others. So anyway do you think that the Warpriest Blessing Zephyr's Gift Could let me shoot a catapult or other siege weapon an infinite range. Also would it be possible to fire alchemists bombs from a catapult for super range.

So for the Rune Blessing, it targets a square and only affects things that enter that square. So you can't use it offensively like that. You can't target rocks with it and it doesn't affect creatures unless they move into the space, not if it moves into their space. In fact, I don't think you can move it at all.

Zephyr's Gift totally works, but "takes no penalties for range" just means you can fire it at max range with no penalty, not infinite range. All ranged weapons have a limit of 10 range increments. If it's more than that you just can't target it, period.

For alchemist's bombs, strictly by the rules, no. Because it doesn't say you can do anything but throw them yourself. You can't even hand them off to other people (except explosion first). The discovery Siege Bomb seems to support this. From a balance point of view... well, alchemist bombs are about as strong as the actual siege weapons, it probably wouldn't be a problem. From a fluff point of view, you're essentially mixing a bunch of unstable chemicals and throwing it before it explodes in your face. Putting it in a catapult might set it off, activating the catapult might set it off, lots of ways it could blow up in your face. Literally. Might be more arguable with Delayed Bomb, since it's inherently more stable than the regular bombs (still goes off when it breaks, so you can fire it). Aiming would be very hard for shooting a tiny flask out of something meant to whip boulders around though. Like putting a BB in a howitzer. Should probably be some kind of penalty for shooting a flask out of a catapult.

As for enhancing the range, you can make siege weapons magic weapons just like anything else. So make a +1 distance catapult. Or cannon, or whatever.

Why not fire demonic pigs?

Just hire a wizard. Have him prep fireballs and explosive spells for the day. Problem solved.

I'm probably missing something saying you can't, but is it possible to put a weapon enchantment, specifically Distance, multiple times.

Can't edit the above post so I need to post another one. Anyway to increase the amount of weight I can fire from a siege weapon, specifically a Trebuchet.
